On February 27 th , 2013, Canadia Bank announced
that it has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding
(MOU) with The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd.
(BTMU) to support foreign companies entering
Cambodia.
Company officials from Canadia Bank and BTMU
met at Canadia Tower for the signing ceremony and
for initial discussions on the forthcoming business
alliance agreement. Mr. Michael Lor, CEO of
Canadia Bank, and Mr. Masato Miyachi, Executive
Director for Asia and Oceania, expect this MOU,
and ultimately the business alliance agreement,
to provide the framework for strong cooperation
between the two banks. Strong recognized brands
and extensive experience in financial services,
Canadia Bank and BTMU agreed to bring together
and leverage their unique strengths and expertise
to grow and develop the Cambodian market.
With pro-growth policies and a supportive
business environment, Cambodia is attractive
to foreign investors. “Today’s signing ceremony
marks just the beginning. After today we get to
work to develop the business alliance agreement.”
He added “I am confident that this forthcoming
business alliance agreement will only strengthen
our two banks, and allow us to work closer as we
develop this exciting market. We want the best
for our customers and we want to see all of our
customers succeed. We believe, as you do, that
fidelity to the customer is paramount. This fidelity
will be expressed from your first referral customer
and on throughout our partnership.” said
