Alex Forrest - Class of 1995

A familiar saying goes, “See the child at 10, see the adult at 20,” the
premise being that the seeds of the future appear early in life.
While Alex Forrest, firefighter, lawyer, and president of the United
Firefighters Union of Winnipeg, can’t recall any particular childhood
fascination with fire hoses, truck ladders, or sliding down poles to the
high-pitched sound of the fire alarm, he does remember deciding that,
whatever path he chose, it had to be filled with challenge. “I was never a
kid who said, ‘I want to be so and so when I grow up’.”
