Launching of the book: “PUBLIC PROCUREMENT
IN KOSOVO”

LOGOS announces the launching of the first book on Public Procurement in
Kosovo, which was officially presented to an interested public in the National
Library in Pristina on 19th of February. The festive opening ceremony with key
academic and professional personalities from Kosovo and neighboring
countries was observed from national media outlets. LOGOS had financially
supported the printing of the book. The book is available in English, Albanian
and Serbian.
The author Mr. Sc. Ilaz Duli started working with public procurement in Kosovo
in 2000. Since his nomination for president by the Assembly of Kosovo in
January 2005, he manages the Public Procurement Regulatory Commission.
The close cooperation between LOGOS and Mr. Duli further resulted in a
Procurement Manual. The manual focuses on concrete procurement issues,
explains the procurement law, gives suggestions and answers frequently asked
questions discussed in the LOGOS Public Procurement Task Force of the Gjilan
region. The manual is financed by LOGOS and can be obtained free of charge.
The book “Public Procurement in Kosovo” offers the readers very important
sources of information for the entire process of public procurement
development in Kosovo since the beginning until the end of 2007. It will
contribute to the explication of procurement field, providing the information
for the genesis and development of this new and very important field in Kosovo,
and also set the basis for the development and further advancement of
procurement in the country, a very important process, from the development of
which a series of vital processes of state processes depend on.
The Swiss-Kosovo Local Governance and Decentralization Support LOGOS is
the Local Governance Project funded by Swiss Agency for Development and
Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by the Swiss Foundation
INTERCOOPERATION.
LOGOS promotes the development of Local Governance and Decentralization
reforms in municipalities of Kosovo, thus contributing to the overall
stabilization of Rule of Law and Democratization of a multiethnic Kosovo state
and society. ###
