高 级 进 修 生
【 项 目 介 绍 】
高 级 进 修 生 是 指 已 获 得 硕 士 以 上 学 位 者 ,
在 北 大 教 授 的 指 导 下 , 从 事 专 题 研 究 ,
或 研 修 专 业 知 识 。 通 常 在 校 学 习 期 限 为 一
年 , 可 以 视 情 况 申 请 适 当 延 长 , 学 习 期 满
后 发 给 进 修 证 书 。
【 申 请 资 格 】
50 周 岁 以 下 , 硕 士 研 究 生 或 以 上 学 历 , 持
外 国 有 效 护 照 的 非 中 国 籍 公 民 。
【 申 请 材 料 】
1. 北 京 大 学 外 国 留 学 生 入 学 申 请 表 ( 进 修
生 ), 表 格 须 按 要 求 填 写 , 并 贴 照 片 。
该 表 可 从 网 上 下 载 , 网 址 :www.oir.pku.
edu.cn;
2. 最 后 学 历 证 明 或 在 学 证 明 、 成 绩 单 , 须
为 中 文 或 英 文 的 原 件 或 公 证 件 ;
3. 两 名 副 教 授 ( 或 相 当 职 位 人 员 ) 的 书 面
推 荐 , 须 为 中 文 或 英 文 的 原 件 ;
4. 已 经 取 得 的 汉 语 水 平 证 明 文 件 ( 如 没 有 ,
可 不 提 供 );
5. 用 中 文 或 英 文 撰 写 的 研 究 计 划 ( 不 低 于
1000 字 );
6. 护 照 复 印 件 , 护 照 必 须 是 在 有 效 期 内 的
普 通 护 照 。
以 上 材 料 须 提 交 一 式 两 份 , 一 份 原 件 , 一 份
复 印 件 。
申 请 材 料 不 予 退 还 。
【 申 请 费 】
400 元 人 民 币 , 只 接 受 现 金 或 银 联 卡 支 付 ,
不 接 受 其 他 币 种 及 旅 行 支 票 。

处 购 买 中 国 平 安 保 险 公 司 所 提 供 的 医 疗 保 险 。 对
于 没 有 购 买 所 要 求 的 医 疗 保 险 者 , 学 校 将 不 予 办
理 注 册 手 续 。

Senior Visiting Student
Program
\Program introduction\
Candidates must have at least a Master's degree. Senior Visiting
Students are normally supervised by a professor of the accepting
college or department to conduct research in a specific subject.
The program is one year, however, upon request the student may
be considered for an extension. Upon graduation, the student will
receive a certificate of achievement.
\Application prerequisites\
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport,
under the age of 50, have attained at least a master's degree.

【 录 取 方 式 】
根 据 申 请 材 料 商 有 关 院 系 录 取 。 录 取 通 知 将
于 6 月 底 寄 发 。
被 录 取 的 学 生 须 持 录 取 通 知 书 和 来 华 学 习 签 证 申
请 表 (JW201/202) 到 中 国 使 馆 申 请 来 华 的 学 习
签 证 。 学 习 时 间 在 6 个 月 以 上 的 须 申 请 X 签 证 ,
在 抵 达 中 国 后 30 天 内 需 要 到 留 学 生 办 公 室 将 X 签
证 转 换 成 学 习 的 居 留 许 可 。 学 习 时 间 在 半 年 之 内
可 以 申 请 F 签 证 。

\Application materials\
1. Peking University Application Form for International Students
(Visiting Student Programs) with a photograph fixed, which is available
at www.oir.pku.edu.cn
2. Certification of highest degree attained, and official academic
transcripts (original documents or certified copies in Chinese or
English)
3. Two letters from your referees. The referees should be professors
or persons with relevant academic title. The recommendation letter
must be original documents either in Chinese or English.
4. Certificate of Chinese proficiency level (If appropriate)
5. Research proposal (no less than 1000 characters, in Chinese or
English)
6. One photocopy of your valid passport of information page (passport
type must be ordinary)
Note: Two copies of the above application materials are required, one
original one duplicate. Your applications documents will not be returned.
\When to apply\
March 7th -31st, 2011
Senior Visiting Student Program
\Application fee\
400RMB in cash or Yinlian bank card. Foreign currency or check is
not acceptable. This fee is not refundable.
Note: Applications with incomplete materials or without the application
fee will not be considered.
\Admission\
Admission will be determined according to your educational
background and academic achievement by the departments or faculty
where you wish to study. Upon acceptance, the University will send
you the 'Letter of Admission' as well as the 'Visa Application Form
for Foreigners (Form JW202)' by the end of June 2011.
\Registration period\
September 2011(specified in the Letter of Admission)
\Tuition fee\ (per year per person)
Science Subjects: 34,000RMB Humanities: 30,000RMB
\Medical insurance\
Peking University’s regulations require that all international
students must be medically insured throughout their entire
planned period of study. How to subscribe the medical insurance,
please refer to the Letter of Admission. Students who do not have
valid medical insurance are not allowed to register.
\Accommodation information\
There are different types of housing facilities for international
students at PKU.

Self-funded Students are required to find their own living
accommodation. Please note that students who live off campus
must register to the local police station within 24 hours.
\Visa information\
Students admitted to PKU may apply for your visa at the Chinese
Embassy/Consulate in your country with your letter of admission
and JW202 form. International students who will study in China
for over 6 months are required to obtain ‘X’ Visa, which will only
be valid for 30 days after your arrival in China. You must come
to the International Students Division and apply for a Residence
Permit within these 30 days in order to obtain a legal status in
China. Study period within 6 months can apply for F visa.
