Aim • ABPs can spread animal diseases or chemical contaminants, and can be dangerous to animal and human health if not properly disposed of. • EU rules regulate their movement, processing and disposal. • ABPs are categorised according to their risk using the basic principles in Regulation EC 1069/2009
Basic principles • ABP not intended for human consumption don’t come back to the food chain (directly or indirectly) • Recycling intraespecie is forbidden. Animals can’t be feeded on protein of their own specie • Management, use, elimination without spread harmful agents for public health, animal health and environment
