available Monday-Saturday
• Urgent ECG service with 1-2 hour turnaround time
• Urgent Holter monitor service available with 36
hour turnaround time
• Convenient access to our service at more than
100 collection centres
• A full range of pathology testing for cardiology
patients

• Associate Professor Gary Sholler, consultant Paediatric
Cardiologist, reports all paediatric ECGs and Holter
monitors
• Cardiologist on-site daily at Macquarie Park
• A Specialist Cardiologist is available for consultation,
emergencies and after hours clinical support
ECG Service
No appointment needed
• All our collection centres are equipped with ECG
machines
• No appointment is required for an ECG at any of our
centres
• Patients, other than pensioners and health care card
holders, will receive an account for this test.
As a referring doctor, you may request us to:
• Perform and report the ECG (full ECG service)
• Perform the ECG and return the trace (“trace only ECG”)
• Report on an ECG already performed by the doctor
(“report only ECG”)
Holter Monitor Service
Appointment required
Holter monitors for elective investigations are provided by
appointment through any of our collection centres
• An urgent Holter monitor service is available on request
• The Holter result is issued as a full, typed report. The
recording is first analysed by a Cardiac Technician,
who edits the data to produce a comprehensive
report including a 24 hour disclosure.The result is then
reviewed by our Cardiologist who issues the final report
Ambulatory Blood Pressure
Monitor Service
Appointment required
• Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring is available
at more than 100 pathology collection centres. An
appointment is required for this service
• Highly accurate measurements are taken every half hour
during the day and every hour during the night
• A Day/Night button allows for statistically accurate
evaluation of Day/Night phases as well as an exact
documentation of the early blood pressure rise
• A graphical report is generated plotting blood pressure
versus time
• At present, this service does not attract a Medicare
rebate and patients will be billed privately

Specialist Cardiologists
Dr Peter Hansen MB, BS, PhD, DDU, FRACP
Senior Cardiologist and Director of Cardiology
Dr Hansen works in our Cardiology Department reporting ECGs, Holter Monitors and BP Monitors.
He is available to report on urgent ECGs. Dr Hansen is the Senior Staff Specialist of the Department
of Cardiology at Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital (St Leonards, NSW). Dr
Hansen is highly regarded by his colleagues and has an excellent professional reputation in all aspects
of cardiology. He specialises in diagnostic coronary angiography and interventional cardiology.
Associate Professor Gary Sholler MB, BS (1st Hons), FRACP
Paediatric Cardiologist
Associate Professor Sholler is Director of Cardiology at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and
works at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, and visits Royal Prince Alfred
Hospital. He has private consulting rooms at Westmead and North Shore Private Hospital. He is
involved in a full range of foetal and paediatric cardiac diagnosis (echocardiography and cardiac
catheter intervention) and management, and researches and lectures in these areas. Associate
Professor Sholler reports on routine ECGs and Holters for all children, up to the age of 12 years, to
offer appropriate paediatric evaluations.
Dr Michael Kennedy MB, BS, MD, FRACP
Senior Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Michael Kennedy has been a consultant physician at his own private cardiology practice in Manly,
NSW since 1977. Dr Kennedy is a VMO physician at Manly Hospital and a VMO cardiologist at the
Mater Private Hospital in Crows Nest. He has a special interest in cardiovascular therapeutics and
non-invasive cardiac diagnosis.
Dr Logan Kanagaratnam MB, BS, DDU, FRACP
Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Kanagaratnam works in our Cardiology Department reporting on ECGs, Holter Monitors and BP
Monitors. Dr Kanagaratnam is a senior staff member at the Department of Cardiology at Royal North
Shore Hospital and Ryde Hospital. He specialises in electrophysiology.
Dr Joseph Chiha B Med Sc MB,BS (Hons) FRACP
Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Chiha works in our Cardiology Department reporting on ECGs, Holter monitors and BP monitors.
He is a private cardiologist based in Westmead. He has an interest in interventional cardiology and is
currently undertaking research in early detection of coronary artery disease and non-invasive cardiac
diagnosis.
Dr Eddy Kizana MB, BS, PhD, FRACP
Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Kizana works in our Cardiology Department reporting on ECGs, Holter monitors and BP monitors.
He is a staff specialist (academic) in the Department of Cardiology at Westmead Hospital and
a senior lecturer at The University of Sydney. His clinical and academic interests are in cardiac
electrophysiology.
