nRF24LU1 Development Kit User Guide The “Status View” tab, se Figure 9, is used to read the Status register and the FIFO Status from the radio. The Observe TX field reads the packet loss and the resent packet counters. To save or restore the settings, use the “load configuration” and “save configuration” under the “file” menu. The “save configuration” will save a TXT file with the configurations settings in C-code format. This can be used directly in the source code. Revision 1.0 Page 14 of 36

nRF24LU1 Development Kit User Guide 5 Output power measurements To measure the RF parameters, like output power and harmonics, you need a spectrum analyzer. Perform these steps to measure the output power of the carrier: 1. Connect a Basic Feature Board with a nRF24LU1 Radio Module SMA to a USB connector on the PC. 2. Connect a SMA coaxial cable from the SMA connector on the radio module to the spectrum analyzer. 3. Set the centre frequency to the nRF24LU1 operating frequency, span to 10MHz and level to +5dBm on the spectrum analyzer. Use the CES in stand alone mode to enter the TX modes shown in Figure 4. Note: The carrier will be slightly modulated by the preamble so the carrier will not be a single tone. With a TX un-modulated carrier test running, the carrier should be visible on the spectrum analyzer. Revision 1.0 Page 15 of 36
