• The operation resulted in <strong>the</strong> seizure/confiscation <strong>of</strong> four<br />
thousand three hundred sixty-four (4,364) pieces <strong>of</strong> assorted counterfeit Louis<br />
Vuitton products with an estimated amount <strong>of</strong> Php 30,172,780.00. The<br />
confiscated items were brought to Eco Safe, First Link Container Yard, Manila<br />
Harbour Center, Road 10, Tondo, Manila for safekeeping.<br />

Significant accomplishments under <strong>CIDG</strong>OPLAN “Ligas”:<br />
1. INTERCEPTION OF A TANKER TRUCK LOADED<br />
WITH 22,000 LITERS OF USED BUNKER OIL<br />
• On June 16, 2010, elements <strong>of</strong> STG “Maverick” flagged<br />
down and took into custody a tanker truck with Plate No. WKH-429 loaded with<br />
22,000 liters <strong>of</strong> used bunker oil at <strong>the</strong> vicinity <strong>of</strong> Fish PortNavotas, Metro Manila.<br />
Said used bunker oil was from <strong>the</strong> Power Barge docked at <strong>the</strong> Fish Portin<br />
Navotas and <strong>the</strong> tanker truck was later found-out to be owned by one Ester<br />
Atienza <strong>of</strong> Blue Ocean General Merchandise. However, <strong>the</strong> truck driver Alex<br />
CUARESMA y Fuentes, 44 years old and truck helper CatalinoMANALO y<br />
Abraham, 36 years old were turned-over to <strong>the</strong> company secretary and<br />
employees <strong>of</strong> Blue Ocean General Merchandise.<br />
• The operation stemmed from <strong>the</strong> complaint and request for<br />
assistance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Philippine</strong> <strong>National</strong> Bank (PNB) regarding <strong>the</strong> alleged <strong>the</strong>ft <strong>of</strong><br />
used bunker oil from a Power Barge docked at <strong>the</strong> Fish Port in Navotas allegedly<br />
perpetrated by personnel <strong>of</strong> East Asia Diesel Power Corporation and its buyers.<br />
Reportedly, <strong>the</strong> said power barge was under Court Litigation with pending case<br />
at MalabonRTC between PNB and East Asia Diesel Power Corporation wherein<br />
<strong>the</strong> said property containing 22,000,00 liters <strong>of</strong> used bunker oil was ordered<br />
freeze by <strong>the</strong> court.<br />
• The team from STG “Maverick” conducted surveillance and<br />
were able to photograph on <strong>the</strong> actual <strong>the</strong>ft being perpetrated by some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
personnel <strong>of</strong> power barge toge<strong>the</strong>r with and in conspiracy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> buyers who stole<br />
<strong>the</strong> used bunker oil contained in <strong>the</strong> power barge without <strong>the</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
PNP and <strong>the</strong> court.<br />
• The case was held in abeyance pending fur<strong>the</strong>r investigation<br />
and <strong>the</strong> secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Blue Ocean General Merchandise was advised to<br />
present all pertinent documents/government permits to prove <strong>the</strong> legitimacy <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong>ir business in transporting and selling used bunker oil.<br />
