Dear Parents,
We’ve reached the time of year when our thoughts are already looking ahead to next year.
It’s amazing how far ahead we need to plan to have everything ready for the new school year
which will begin in August. In that light, I need to share some new procedures with you.
As I shared with teachers the very first meeting I spent with them last August, I trust that the best and
brightest have been hired to teach at Eastvalley. We have now worked together for 7 months and I have
found that the staff here is very dedicated and caring for all students. I feel every teacher is going to give
their best effort to make sure that every child reaches the highest possible expectations.
For the next school year, I will not be accepting requests for a specific teacher to teach your child. I will
also not accept any requests for a certain teacher not to have your child. Our procedure will be for the current-year
teachers to meet with me and build classes of students who will work well together. There will be
no names on the class lists; I will make the teacher assignments later in the summer. Please do not write
letters to your current teacher or to me with any teacher requests, as they will not be honored.
Registration cards for next school year will be sent home in late April/early May. All students in Kindergarten
through 4 th grade will receive a registration card. Registration cards are required each school year
for your child to be properly enrolled in school. In order to be placed on a class list for next year, this registration
card must be returned by the due date. If you are moving, or your child is not returning to Eastvalley
for some other reason, you will write a note that your child is not retuning and return it to the classroom
teacher. That way, we will know not to place your child on a class list. The envelope that the cards come
home in will be used to mail the final report card home in late May. We will ask each family to put 4 (four)
U.S. postage stamps on the envelope to ensure that it will be delivered through the U.S. mail.
Spring Break is upon us, and I hope that each of you has a wonderful time off with your family. Rest, relax
and reenergize! You will need it for when we return, we will be coming quickly to CRCT testing and all
the special events that happen at the end of the school year.
