Welcome to Drayton Valley……Your Guide
to Getting to know the Community
This directory is dedicated to listing the various community services available for seniors
in and around Drayton Valley.
We have designed this guide a little differently this year as we have added housing
information, by-laws, and other tips and hints for day to day needs. We hope you find it
useful. It also contains listings for everything from health and wellness resources to
recreational and social opportunities for seniors. This data has been obtained primarily
from information submitted by each organization. The listing of the agency does not
necessarily constitute endorsement of its purpose, method, or quality of service. This is
only a guide to services available.
FCSS recognizes that from time to time there will be changes to agency information and
we will make every effort to keep the information current. Please let us know if you
become aware of any changes.
If the information that you are looking for is not listed in this directory please call your
local FCSS for assistance.
As a young boy and girl walked along a beach at dawn,
they noticed an old man ahead of them picking up
starfish and tossing them into the sea. Catching up with
the man, the girl asked why he was doing this. The old
man explained that the stranded starfish would die if
left in the morning sun. “But the beach goes on for
miles and there are thousands of starfish,” exclaimed
the girl. “You can’t possibly make a difference.” The old man looked at the starfish in
his hand and then tossed it safely into the waves. He turned to them, smiled and said, “I
made a difference to that one.” - Loren Eiseley (1907 – 1977)
