Overview<br />

The purpose of this guide is to provide consistency throughout<br />

the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre Map.<br />

The guide showcases examples and provides tips to help you get<br />

the most out of your advertising space and ensure that readers<br />

take notice of your advertisement.<br />

Please ensure that complete digital files or separate image and<br />

• Landscape orientation<br />

• High resolution 300dpi or 1MB - 2MB in size<br />

• Cannot contain text or contact information over the top of the image<br />

• Montages will not be accepted<br />

Text<br />

This is a space to describe your product. Remember that not everyone is communicated to visually.<br />

There are two spaces in the text area; the main description and the contact information.<br />

• 300 words – length of words can sometimes make this word count vary<br />

• Copy should be broken up with subheadings<br />

• Title to include business name only. Catch phrases/slogans cannot be included here<br />

Proofing Advertisements<br />

All material (text, image etc) must be submitted prior to design of first proof.<br />

Proofs are sent to clients via an email link to a pdf. The pdf is opened at low resolution. To open a high resolution<br />

version please click on the grey ‘Download’ button in the bottom left corner of the low res proof screen.<br />

Proof 1<br />

Clients will be required to check content to ensure accuracy. Below is a handy checklist for the aspects<br />

of the ad which should be checked.<br />

Please note:<br />

• Clients are granted the opportunity to review their Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre Map print<br />

proof three times. Changes made beyond the third proof at the clients request will incur an additional fee<br />

of $75 per proof.<br />

• Screen representation for colour matching cannot be guaranteed and will depend solely upon the<br />

advertiser’s computer hardware.<br />

• Destination Melbourne will take no responsibility for dissatisfaction due to colour difference between<br />

proof and final printed product.
