Göbel High End loudspeakers: exclusive roadshow with reference class loudspeaker „Epoque“
The highend loudspeaker manufacturer Göbel from Germany presents the reference class loudpeaker series „Epoque“ with an ex-
clusive roadshow. Within the next few month, the uncompromising loudspeaker „Epoque Reference“ with almost 200 kilogramms
in weight will make its journey to the most renown hifi dealers in Europe. Regardless whether you are in Berlin, Munich, London
or Paris, Göbel will visit you and give you the opportunity to get to know the uncompromising sound reproduction of the patented
Göbel® bending wave loudspeaker.
The roadshow begins with Max Schlundt in Berlin, Kanstr. 17, 10623 Berlin, where this epic loudspeaker can be seen and listened
to from 28 October unti 12 November 2011. All further dates will be announced within the next weeks on www.goebel-highend.de
Epoque Reference
Within the two-year development of this loudspeaker, the patented Göbel@ bending wave
driver - centerpiece of each loudspeaker series from Göbel - has been completely reen-
gineered: The core of the mebrane remains the Göbel specific type of wood. A newly
developed production process refines this most sensible nature product with nine different
layers of carbon fibres. This enables an even more homogeneous sound dispersion and
once more enhances its dynamic response. Also, the aerodynamically optimised driving
units of the new bending wave speaker efficiently prevent any resonance and compression
effects. Furthermore, a system of neodymium magnets in a radial configuration enhances
the acoustic fineness of the natural sound reproduction.
The particular challenge developing the Epoque Reference was the combination of the
new Göbel® bending wave speaker with a sophisticated low frequency device which consists of twelve loudspeaker chassis in
an inpulse compensating set-up. Therefore a special cabinet of composite and aluminum has been developed which is capable of
including all sound devices without any result of interference. Additionally, the special material mix guarantees an identical radia-
tion and impulse behaviour of all driving units of the Epoque series.
Form follows acoustics: A free flowing, objective shaping and the use of a variety of high-grade materials constitute a timeless
design that matches the high-end acoustics of this reference class loudspeaker series. All of the emitting sound devices on the
frontside focus exactly the listening position and provide an utmost precise hearing impression. Due to the particular array of the
rearside emitting low-frequency devices, a smooth transition of the broad frequency range of the Göbel® bending wave loud-
speaker to the low frequencies of the subwoofers is guaranteed. As a result, setting up the loudspeakers in the listening room
becomes mere child’s play.
HIGH END
Patented Loudspeakers & Cables made in Germany.
On the occasion of HIGH END 2008, Göbel Audio presents the new wall loudspeaker series „Modul“ - a flat panel loudspeaker
system that has been awarded by the Bavarian ministry of economics with the research prize for future-oriented technology.
With every high-end loudspeaker series produced by this German specialist workshop near Munich, the heart of this loudspeaker
system remains the patented Göbel bending-wave speaker, with its nine-layered wooden membrane and precisely lasercut inci-
sions. Therefore it is not surprising that this plain wall loudspeaker „Modul Wall“ satisfies, despite its modern design, with the
expected precise sound reproduction of a Göbel loudspeaker.
For many years now, the founder and main developer, Oliver Göbel, is fascinated by the bending wave princple as it is the basic
sound principle of most instruments. Within a research period of over seven years he developed a bending wave loudspeaker that,
NEW EDITION OF THE „DETAILLE“ SERIES
due to its incredible resolution and speed in par-
ticular, leaves all conventional loudspeakers in its
shadow: The bending wave loudspeaker „Modul
Wall“ which covers a freqency range of 100 -
29.500 Hz is perfectly suited for wall recessing
due to its small installation depth of 7cm. The con-
ventional subwoofer „Modul Base“ is a bandpass
with two impulse compansatingly set up 16 cm
longthrow chassis. Both loudspeakers are avail-
able in brilliant black and brilliant white.
The Detaille series, which has been awarded with a prize for technology at the IHM 2006, comes in a new outfit: Apart from the
brushed aluminium frame and the brilliant white or black finish, the Detaille series has been face-lifted with a new magnetic cover
made from exclusive acoustic cloth.
Göbel develops new edition of legendary Grundig Audiorama
New version of the design classic Audiorama from Grundig.
@ Göbel loudspeaker manufactory 2011 - 120430 Press_Information.pdf - last modified: 30.04.2012
In order to celebrate the 100th birthday of Max Grundig, the German company
Grundig revives the legendary spherical 360° loudspeakers „Audiorama“ from
the seventies. Besides the slightly revised appearance of this design classic,
Grundig sets the main focus on a high grade sound performance. Therefore
Oliver von Kospoth, Director Sound & Digital Media at Grundig addressed Göbel
Audio: „We want the new Audiorama to be just as cool and innovative as its
prototpye from the 70‘s, while making a quantum leap forward in terms of qual-
ity. After all, the coming year is to host a lavish birthday party for Max Grundig,
and only the finest birthday gift is good enough.“ After his visit of the Göbel
premesis close to Munich, where Oliver von Kospoth enjoyed a presentation of
the Göbel Detaille Series at the in-house listening studio and gained insight into
the development and production capacities of Göbel, he was convinced. He was
especially impressed that Göbel develops and manufactures all high-end prod-
ucts exclusively in Germany. This supported his decision to commission Göbel
with the development of the new Audiorama series.
Göbel receives national research prize for future-oriented technology
Within the German support programme for future-oriented start-ups (BayTOU), the Bavarian ministry for economics and technol-
ogy finances a new Göbel loudspeaker project. After an extensive visit of the Göbel development centre, the renown professor for
electroacoustics at the university of Regensburg, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Manfred Zollner, certifies in his sonic expertise that main developer
Oliver Göbel has „good applied knowledge in the field of loudspeakers / acoustics , which constitute a solid base for the necessary
technical research. At no time at all did the impression arise that Mr. Göbel is only going to resell external production goods; in fact
it was very obvious that he wants to launch a product of his own. (...) Within the company inspection (...), the applying businessman
showed extensive acknowledgment introducing his idea and (...) presented well qualified premises for it. The advanced prototypes
of the loudspeaker were tested with different kinds of music, whereas both visitors pointed out a very good sound reproduction.“
The fully developed product will be presented to the general public at the High End show in 2008 - Europe‘s most important show
for audiophile sound reproduction.
