1.19 Investigate possible procedures to reuse pool 2008 LS and PH MW

1.20 Develop procedures to reuse pool water when 2008 LS and EP
maintenance is undertaken at pools, thus diverting
it from sewer
1h Follow up all properties on the septic database which 2008 PH YVW
have sewer available but have not connected. This
should include strategies to require any properties
that have underperforming septics to connect to
sewer.

1.21 DWMP Develop a database program tailored to retaining 2009 PH
septic system information which allows effective
reporting and performance monitoring of systems
and which is linked to Council’s GIS system.
1.22 Ensure wastewater from all Council managed ongoing PH and IM
properties in areas not serviced by sewer,
is effectively contained by septic systems.
1.23 DWMP Undertake a feasibility study on issues and options 2008 PH
for monitoring or auditing the performance of septic
systems in the Shire. This should include
investigations into possible enforcement options.
1.26 Implement and report on the progress of the Nillumbik Ongoing EP
Sustainable Water Strategy.
1.27 ES Report annually to Council and the community on Ongoing EP and PH
water quality.
1.28 Conduct regular forums to discuss water quality issues Ongoing EP with

respect to stormwater quality management issues

risk areas to collect technical information on the

managed wastewater systems within the Shire.
1.25 Ensure planning permit conditions relating to both ongoing PH, PB and ID
stormwater and domestic wastewater treatment and
disposal management on properties in unsewered
areas are applied where appropriate
