HTI for you | Winter 2011 Editorial Dear readers! Our HTI FOR YOU magazine slowly but steadily becomes tradition and we are pleased that we can present to you the 4th edition already. Here we would like to thank all of you who are involved in the process for their contribution and we do hope that some of you have already been waiting for this edition. Nadja Goyer Christmas is close and it is not long until we welcome the New Year. During this time of tranquility some of us take the time for their own, personal reflection – like we from HTI do. We look back on an eventful year with a lot of novelties and successful business conclusions. Hence, in this edition we report on a new era in the power supply of aircrafts, which we introduced with our new ground power units S POWER and D POWER – they were met with great interest at the trendsetting international show for the airport industry! Successful business conclusions are also reported on by our Lightweight Group, who was awarded with seven digit orders due to their organizational efficiency and technological perfection. Beyond that, this edition also contains a report on our new pneumatic hammer BH9, which will safeguard the further expansion of our market share as well as a report about our innovative, energy saving OMNIA vacuum system, which is now also available in independent version. Further we inform you about our uniform IT environment and about roadshows, where not least our company presented itself to an interested investment audience. Last but not least we may present to you truly artistic HTI works of art, which were entered to our HTI art competition – be prepared to be surprised! creating future ... The year 2011 has passed with highs and lows, but also with many surprises. The turning of the year is always a welcome opportunity to analyze past and present, in order to create our future on that basis. Peter Glatzmeier Chairman of the Management Board The year 2011 will go down in the HTI history as the year of catching-up and recovery. Thanks to the fruitful cooperation of all involved we have mostly reached our targets and led the company back to making profits. A look at our current order situation gives reason to be happy and makes us expect an economically good year 2012. Despite these positive developments however it is only appropriate to start the New Year with reluctant optimism only. The macroeconomic environment is unsure, since the discussions about the debts of many states have been proven as widely ranged. There has not yet been found a uniform way by the politicians about a way out of this European debt crisis. The only consensus is that it is clear to everybody that something has to change and that we have to be prepared for whatever there is to come. We – HTI – prepare ourselves systematically for our future and have started the ‘fit for the future’ program, where we ask every single employee to present interesting suggestions for the creation of our future. Together we build our ‘bridge to the future’ and develop action plans that allow us to react flexibly and quickly to possible changes. Since it is our goal, to always be a reliable partner for our employees, customers, suppliers and shareholders. A substantial part of our strategic planning is also the question of what the future will look like, how competition, market, consumers will behave in future and which technologies will gain importance. Since companies, that are prepared for changes, may become pioneers. And in the long run he, who understands change and creates changes successfully, will win. Dear readers, now it is not long until Christmas, here comes the quiet time that concludes every year, however stormy it may have been. In this season spirit I would like to express my appreciation to all people, who are contributing to our business success. I do thank … … our business partners for their collaborative dialogues and their productive cooperation. Thank you for the many interesting orders and the appreciation of our performance and services. It is our pleasure to be there for you! … our shareholders for the trust they are investing in us. Your commitment is a substantial key factor for us. Especially I do appreciate your loyalty – you can count on us that we will do everything to reciprocate! ... our employees for their enthusiasm that they input in our company, since the innovation power of our company is based on the multitude of ideas, coming from our passionate employees. I appreciate the exemplary dedication and the self imposed demand to be the best they can and to generate optimal results – always to the benefit of our customers and their requirements.
