About the Editors<br />
Il<strong>on</strong>a Kickbusch serves as senior <strong>health</strong> <strong>policy</strong><br />
advisor to the Swiss Federal Office for Public Health<br />
and is a Visiting Professor to the Graduate Institute<br />
of Internati<strong>on</strong>al Studies, Geneva. She is a political<br />
scientist with a PhD from the University of K<strong>on</strong>stanz,<br />
Germany. She has had a distinguished career with the<br />
World Health Organizati<strong>on</strong>. She held a professorship<br />
at Yale University and chaired the divisi<strong>on</strong> of <strong>global</strong><br />
<strong>health</strong>. Ill<strong>on</strong>a also served as the senior advisor <strong>on</strong><br />
Millennium Development Goals and Health Targets to<br />
the Director of the Pan American Health Organizati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
She has published widely and has received many<br />
prizes and h<strong>on</strong>ours, including an h<strong>on</strong>orary doctorate<br />
from the Nordic School of Public Health. She teaches<br />
at various universities, is a member of a wide range of<br />
advisory boards in both the academic and the <strong>health</strong><br />
<strong>policy</strong> arena and is an adjunct professor at Deakin<br />

Graham Lister is Senior Associate of Judge Business<br />
School, Cambridge and Visiting Professor in Health<br />
and Social Care at L<strong>on</strong>d<strong>on</strong> South Bank University. He<br />
holds a masters degree in management science and<br />
a doctorate for work <strong>on</strong> leadership and organisati<strong>on</strong><br />
behaviour. As partner of an internati<strong>on</strong>al firm and as<br />
an independent c<strong>on</strong>sultant he advised <strong>on</strong> <strong>health</strong> <strong>policy</strong><br />
in the following regi<strong>on</strong>s: the UK and Kenya, Cambodia,<br />
H<strong>on</strong>g K<strong>on</strong>g, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, the Czech<br />
Republic, Hungary, and Lithuania. He directed The<br />
Nuffield Trust programme “Global Health a Local<br />
Issue” and studies for the White Paper “Making<br />
Globalisati<strong>on</strong> Work for the Poor”. Graham was<br />
rapporteur for an internati<strong>on</strong>al c<strong>on</strong>ference <strong>on</strong> “Health<br />
and Foreign Policy” and has published papers <strong>on</strong> the<br />
need for a <str<strong>on</strong>g>European</str<strong>on</strong>g> Strategy for Global Health. He<br />
