‘change may be fitful and replete with oscillations and delays rather than an ordered<br />

and consistent revolution.’ The conceptual <strong>model</strong> is, therefore, supplemented by two<br />

case studies: a small, young corporation (‘BoutiqueCo’) and a long-established, large<br />

global partnership (‘MegaPartners’). The <strong>model</strong> below is therefore a conceptual<br />

framework which describes the broad pattern <strong>of</strong> development <strong>of</strong> PSF <strong>governance</strong><br />

observed over the course <strong>of</strong> the research studies, while the detailed case studies<br />

illustrate two ‘aborted excursions’ (to use Greenwood and H<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>gs’, 1988,<br />

term<strong>in</strong>ology).<br />
