Power harrow
Zirkon

LEMKEN Zirkon
The Concept
The use of power harrows gains more and more importance
in agriculture. Due to the combination with other
implements a lot of working processes can be done
faster and more economically.
The power harrow has an intensive mixing and crumbling
effect up to 15 cm working depth. The active tools prepare
an optimal seedbed in almost all soil conditions,
even in hard, dry and heavy soils as well as in soils with
very compact layers.
Working intensity can be influenced by driving speed,
PTO speed and gearbox adjustment of the power harrow.
This means that the seedbed preparation can be
done regularly in only one operation. The LEMKEN
Zirkon power harrows excellently meet the high requirements
of modern farming business. They are suitable for
continuous operation in conventional and minimum tillage
seeding procedures and can be applied in front as
well as in rear mounting.

Each version perfect
Front and rear mounting
Semi-mounted
The front mounted Zirkon performs exceptionally well in
difficult soil conditions and is perfect for special crops
such as vegetable growers. The precise depth guidance
and good reconsolidation can be achieved by a choice
of different LEMKEN rollers.
The rear mounted Zirkon e.g. with fitted on Saphir
mechanical seed drill or Solitair pneumatic seed drill is a
high performing seed combination. In working widths
from 4 to 6 m it is hydraulically foldable to 3 m transport
width. When changing the field no preparation times are
necessary which saves time and money.
The semi-mounted Zirkon power harrow with fitted on
Solitair seed drill is a combination with high hectare performance
for demanding farming businesses. It guarantees
soil protecting use as well as safe road transport.
The Solitair seed drill is easily uncoupled enabling the
power harrow to be used independently or via 3-point
linkage with other implements.

Depending on working condition, tractor and hectare
performance there is a choice between Zirkon 7 and
Zirkon 10. For best stability and long working times rotor
shaft and tine carrier are forged in one piece and highly
heat treated.
Having the same basic construction, the Zirkon 10 is suitable
for highest demands due to stronger bearings, larger
shaft diameter and thicker trough bottom.
The heart of the Zirkon power harrow is its gear trough.
Heavy gauge steel is used to form the monocoque
trough in which bearing housings are welded. Trough
and cover are welded together to a distortion free unit.
Tine carriers and gear wheels are positioned precisely
and safe in the trough. Effortless and smooth running
and the precise guidance of the tine carriers guarantee
for a long lifetime of the Zirkon power harrow.

Stability for high hectare performance
After welding the bearing housings are machined in „one
position“ on a CNC machining centre providing an absolutely
precise bearing position and an easy and quiet
running of the Zirkon power harrow.
Bearings which are sealed on both sides as well as the
complex sealings of the trough prevent the bearings
reliably from damage, dirt and running dry.
There are four tine carriers per metre all positioned
sequentially in a different angle enabling the tines of the
Zirkon power harrow to work successive after each
other. This provides smooth and equal running of the
power harrow even in difficult conditions and prevents
swinging up. Damages by stones are excluded due to
the tine carriers being round as plates.

Modern gear box technique
The gearbox with
changeable cogwheels
The Dual-Shift gear
Changing the
rotation
All components of the Zirkon 7 gearbox
are heat treated; shafts and cogwheels
are additionally surface hardened.
The desired rotor speed can be
adjusted by simply changing the cogwheels.
The PTO shaft connection is
exactly centrally positioned, providing
special protection of gearbox and
PTO shaft.
The newly designed Dual-Shift gear
is constructed as switchable bevel
gearbox. The rotor speed is switched
via an easy to reach switch
lever at the gearbox. Depending on
the gear position, 330 or 440 rpm
can be selected with tractor PTO at
1000 rpm.
The Dual-Shift gear enables additionally
to reverse the direction of rotation.
After the loosening of three
bolts the gear can be simply moved
20 mm between two stops by a
spindle. For the reversal of rotation
either the left or the right rotor is driven
by the cogwheel.

The all-in-one implement
The turning
direction
The Allround knife
tine
The knife tines
change of turning
direction
Due to the reveal of the turning direction
the knife tine of the Zirkon 10
can be driven in grade or drag position.
In drag position the Allround
tines have a better levelling effect
and stones remain in the ground. The
grade position is ideal for mulch seeding
due to intensive mixing of soil
and vegetation like a rotary cultivator.
Fine earth is moved to the level of
seed placement, large crumbles
remain on the surface and reduce
slaking and erosion.
The Zirkon 10 is equipped as standard
with Allround knife tines with
edges sharpened on both sides.
Each pair of tines is fitted to the rotor
by a flat lynch pin which enables a
quick change of tines without tools.
The fitting components below the
tine carrier create an increase of
space and the smooth trough bottom
prevents from stones being trapped.
At 340 mm long and 20 mm thick the
Allround tines guarantee for a very
long life.
A special hardening process prevents
the tines especially from breakage
and wear. Tines with hard
facing in critical areas are available
and can provide an exceptionally
long working life.
The knife tines of the Zirkon are
arranged in drag position. Large diameter
high tensile bolts with forged
threaded plates secure the tines
against tearing and loss.

Competence in details
The headstock
The three point
linkage
The wheelmark
eradicators
The Zirkon power harrow is equipped
with a tough headstock with an
integrated toolbox. The elastic one
piece drawbar between the lower
link connections absorbs shocks
and protects tractor and implement
during transport and work. Due to
the lower link connections which
can be shifted the distance between
tractor and power harrow can be
adjusted individually.
A hydraulic three point linkage
system can be attached to the
connections which are integrated
into the headstock as standard. The
changeable height and length
distances allow the Zirkon power
harrow to be adjusted optimally to all
seed drills. All joints are equipped
with bushes to protect them against
wear.
The wheelmark eradicators can be
adjusted in working depth without
tools. They can be easily adapted to
the track width of all tractors. To protect
them against damage they are
fitted with an automatic overload
safety device.

Safe and succesful
The side shield
The levelling bar
The seedbed
The height adjustable side shields
which are positioned left and right
from the tine row prevent the outer
tines from ridging. They can get out
of the way sideward and upward
and are foldable for transport of
machines with 3 m working width.
Optional feed discs and side shield
extensions enable precisely connected
working passes without ridges.
The levelling bar regulates the flow
of soil and optimally complements
the work of the knife tines. It is
height adjustable with an eccentric
lever and a pin adjuster, a spanner
can be used to support the adjustment.
It is designed to push stones
down, and to level the loosened and
crumbled soil. It can be mounted
before the knife tines or between
knife tines and following roller.The
There are different trapeze rollers
available as following implements for
the Zirkon power harrow. The trapeze
rings consolidate the soil stripewise
with the same distance as the
drill coulters. This enables an equal
seeding depth and an optimal reconsolidation.

LEMKEN Zirkon with Solitair
The combination
Optimal soil adaption
The semi-mounted Zirkon power harrow can be used
alone or in combinations. If used solo the transport
wheels are raised during work, so that the large tyres
have no soil contact. For the combination of Zirkon
power harrow and LEMKEN Solitair pneumatic seed drill
the connections lie above the axle of the power harrow
trailer. This means the combination is short, compact
and easy to separate. The combination features a weight
transfer system as standard which enables even weight
distribution and a precisely kept working depth of the
power harrow with different seed levels in the hopper.
There is a hydraulic three point linkage available as an
option to combine the Zirkon power harrow with other
seed drills.
To ensure an even depth of cultivation the foldable
Zirkon power harrows of 4m working width and above
consist of two units. Each unit is secured with a pendulum
system and works independently. The pendulum
axles are positioned centrally in front of each unit so that
the power harrow is always guided optimally.

The forward-looking combination
Safe transport
Front mounting
All Lemken power harrows of 3 m and above are problem
free when it comes to road transport as each unit
folds to a transport width of 3 m maximum which corresponds
to the road traffic act. The semi mounted Zirkon
power harrow can be equipped with a brake system for
fast and safe road transport.
Folding up or down takes just a few seconds and the
combination is immediatly ready for work or transport.
There is no need for a costly transport trailer and the
quick transport from field to field increases the performance.
The front mounted Zirkon performs exceptionally well in
difficult soil conditions and is perfect for special crops
such as vegetable growers. The tube bar roller in front of
the power harrow enables precise depth guiding of the
implement and good reconsolidation can be achieved by
a choice of different LEMKEN rollers.
