Wim Bosman France Opens New Branch in Lyon and Extends Cross<br />

Dock in Paris<br />

Due to a strong need for direct line transit time for shipments from<br />

hauls from Western Europe to the Western Europe to the South of<br />

30% in 2012, in comparison with<br />

2007. This goal will be achieved by<br />

taking the following measures:<br />

• Use of vehicles with the lowest<br />

possible emissions. Not only<br />

CO2, but also other emissions<br />

like SO2, PM10 and NOx<br />

• Use of alternative fuels and<br />

technologies, such as Dual Fuel,<br />

hybrid and natural gas<br />

• Monitoring the fuel consumption<br />

• Regular checks of tire pressure<br />

• Driver training ‘economical<br />

driving’<br />

• Pilot board computer ‘Driving<br />

behaviour assistant’<br />

• Intermodal solutions<br />

• Deployment of EcoCombis<br />

• Stating the CO2-emission on<br />

transport documents<br />

Besides a cross dock and<br />

warehouse space of 1500 m 2 , Wim<br />

Bosman Lyon also has a forwarding<br />

and sales office. This branch will<br />

co-operate intensively with the<br />

distribution network Volupal.<br />

– finding potential shippers with<br />

the same destination as the<br />

present shippers<br />

– co-operate with customers<br />

and partners to minimize time<br />

window deliveries and other<br />

(Compressed Natural Gas), LNG<br />

This national distribution network<br />

offers a transport solution for goods<br />

from 1 to 6 pallets.<br />

Completed extension of Paris cross<br />

dock<br />

At this moment, the extension of<br />

our current cross dock in Paris of<br />

2700 m 2 is being utilised. <strong>The</strong> total<br />

cross dock/warehouse space in<br />

Paris now covers 7400 m 2 .<br />

(Liquefied Natural Gas), Dual Fuel<br />

and hybrid vehicles. We are testing<br />

for example the MAN TGL DualFuel<br />

truck and the Econic NGT<br />

distribution truck with a natural gas<br />

engine from Mercedes-Benz.<br />

<strong>The</strong> TGL DualFuel truck is driving<br />

on natural gas combined with<br />

diesel. Natural gas (CNG,<br />

Compressed Natural Gas) has the<br />

advantage of less CO2 emission<br />

and air pollution. <strong>The</strong> DualFuel truck<br />

saves 9,000 kg CO2 based on<br />

50,000 km per year.<br />
