<strong>Mainfreight</strong> Logistics in Prestons<br />
has been through a number of team<br />
changes of late with a couple of our<br />
stars transferring to Melbourne and<br />
the departure of Thomas Steel and<br />
Shailesh Bhuthadia back to their<br />
homeland of New Zealand leaving<br />
the Branch and Operations<br />
Manager roles vacant.<br />
At last we have started to get the<br />
balance right with an Aussie in the<br />
Ops Manager role in the form of<br />
Shane Zielonka taking up the<br />
challenge, but conversely yet<br />
another Kiwi has made it through<br />
customs with Kris Maddaford<br />
assuming the role as Branch<br />
Manager. A big thank you must be<br />
passed onto Thomas and Shailesh<br />
for their hard work building up this<br />
branch over the last couple of years<br />
to easily overreach its profit target.<br />
Operationally, our storage, inbound<br />
and outbound volumes continue to<br />
rise. <strong>The</strong> target going forward is<br />
training and up-skilling our new<br />
team members so we can convert<br />
as much of this revenue to the<br />
bottom line as possible through<br />
quality and efficiency.<br />

Hi there one and all. I have just<br />
completed the May 2011<br />
<strong>Mainfreight</strong> Outward Bound; it was<br />
a challenge that I thought would be<br />
Electric fork-hoist in action<br />
Ray Burgess teamed with Jan Philips completed another 100%<br />
stock take for one of our elite customers<br />
too difficult for an old bugger like<br />
me! I found it built team unity, gave<br />
me the confidence to lead and<br />
attack new tasks without fear. We<br />
were fortunate enough to have six<br />
Yanks, four Kiwis and four Aussies,<br />
a great mix. <strong>The</strong> entire team<br />
toughed it out and ended up the<br />
best of friends. I recommend this to<br />
all who are offered the chance, and<br />
appreciate <strong>Mainfreight</strong>’s initiative,<br />
as this was life changing in some<br />
way for all concerned. <strong>The</strong><br />
experience, especially for the<br />
Americans, showed us all that blue<br />
blood is earned not given.<br />
