NOTE: This is a very preliminary list of information literacy resources available in the<br />
Bengali language used in India and surrounding regions because the information<br />
literacy concept is very new to the country and the region and because English is<br />
very widely spoken and is the language preferred and used by professionals to<br />
publish their research results and to produce websites for Internet online availability<br />
of public information. However, as the concept becomes more widely known and<br />
practiced by ordinary citizens and public institutions such as schools and local<br />
government agencies, we expect more materials will be produced and published in<br />
Bengali. Finally, some IL resources are also available in other. major indigenous<br />
regional languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Telugu, and Gujarati.<br />
