Remote patient monitoring: CII has also been implemented in a
remote patient monitoring scenario by integrating Bluetooth/Wi-Fi
enabled blood pressure sensors. This approach can perform the

Transfer data without manual intervention to a remote server, which
could be accessed by a medical expert through a mobile device or
PC.
Make decisions based on the patient’s health profile (based on
previous history) and send a warning if abnormal functioning is
detected.
Now, physicians and nurses can use this technology to avoid frequent
patient check-ins, thus maximizing their time to serve more patients at
the same time. Hospital staff receive alarms if something is abnormal
with a patient’s blood pressure and can decide if a face-to-face visit,
specialist consultation or any medical intervention is required. With the
monitoring of more parameters, like glucose level, pulse rate and ECG
data, the impact would increase significantly, saving approximately
12% of nurses’ and physicians’ productive time.

Cognizant Intelligent Infrastructure is applicable wherever a diverse set
of devices needs to be connected for collecting data for reactive/
proactive monitoring and maintenance. The nature of the opportunity
includes platform-enabling intelligent device and communication
infrastructures that interact with each other and provide better
guidance for critical decision making in mission critical environments,
analytics framework, business integration, and performance and cost
optimization. CII will transform the delivery of vital and non-vital data
services using standardized protocols and technologies. It is expected
