This specifies how the GW-8<br />

will synchronize to an external<br />

MIDI device. Synchronization is<br />

available if the MIDI OUT<br />

connector of your external MIDI<br />

device is connected to the GW-<br />

8’s MIDI IN connector. (If you’ve<br />

made the opposite connection,<br />

refer to the owner’s manual for<br />

your external device.)<br />

This is an on/off switch for Pitch<br />

Bend message reception. These<br />

messages temporarily raise or<br />

lower the pitch of the keyboard<br />

mode Tone.<br />

This is an on/off switch for<br />

Modulation message reception.<br />

These messages apply vibrato<br />

Using the GW-8 as a MIDI<br />

Sound Module<br />

If you want to use the GW-8 with an external MIDI sequencer,<br />

for example to create Styles, proceed as follows.<br />

1. Press [SONG] to put the GW-8 in Song mode.<br />

2. Press [PERFORM] so it’s lit, then use the VALUE dial to<br />

select the preset Performance “128: Init Performance.”<br />

MFX (p. 42) will apply only to the part that you play manually<br />

on the GW-8 (the Upper Part or Lower Part).<br />

Tx Song<br />

Position<br />

This specifies whether Song<br />

Position Pointer messages will<br />

be transmitted to indicate the<br />

currently playing position in<br />

Song mode. If you don’t want<br />

this message to be transmitted,<br />

choose the Off setting. This is<br />

valid only if [SONG] is lit.<br />
