Climbing passion
Climbing is a multiform sport and a passion for thousands upon thousands of people. Traditional
climbing, sport climbing, solo climbing, bouldering, aid climbing and now indoor climbing are just
some of the numerous ways to pursue this amazing activity. No matter which form of climbing
you choose, there comes a certain set of values and skills. While growing your passion for
climbing, you develop a love for nature, a true team spirit, self-confidence, tenacity and humility.
It is our personal belief that making climbing walls around the world brings climbing to everyone
and therefore allows those key values and important personal skills to spread. This is one of the
reasons why, at Entre-Prises, we build climbing walls.
Our passion has remained intact since we started it all 25 years ago, and today we continue our
search for unique and elegant shapes, designing new climbing lines, and pushing material and
process innovation.
As a matter of fact Entre-Prises is the world-leading manufacturer of climbing walls with a clear
commitment on developing the sport and supporting many organizations such as FFME,
FEDME, IFSC…etc. In 2011 Entre-Prises reinforced its presence in the climbing competitions
with the acquisition of the Spanish company Top30 Climbing Walls, the Global Partner of the
IFSC, responsible for many of the biggest climbing events in the last years.
Entre-Prises owns 4 main production facilities that guarantee a proper service throughout the
world: Bend (USA), Kelbrook (GBR), Avilés (ESP) and Hui Zhou (CHN). Together these form a
worldwide net creating a unique team with the same target; grow with climbing. In addition to this
Entre-Prises owns sales offices in many other countries like Norway, Germany, France and the
Netherlands.
Speed holds:
production process & quality
With a production of over 300.000 holds per year, Entre-Prises can provide a unique background
on the production processes. Entre-Prises standard mix procedure ensures consistency on
colours and optimum hold strength, as well as the same texture to every hold. To guarantee the
requested similarity, Entre-Prises will produce every hold from the same master mould and will
distribute the moulds around the different production facilities.
In terms of material, the speed holds should be produced in PE (Polyester DCPD). Our technical
department suggests it is subject to some considerations:
PE is a cheaper material than PU (Polyurethan). However, PU is recommended
when producing holds with high breaking strength, but due to the IFSC holds
design, it is not relevant in this case.
Resin PE (DCPD) does not contain styrene which makes it closer to be an
ecological product, even though we cannot label it 100% green. With PU holds
we will be producing a high contaminant product that will not reflect Entre-
Prises, and IFSCs, commitment to protecting the environment.
PU gives the holds a “plastic” texture that can be slippery in some cases, which
can be a disadvantage in regards to speed climbing.
In any case, Entre-Prises will specifically reinforce the Speed Holds mix, adding
fiberglass Fillite. This will make the holds virtually unbreakable.
In terms of quality, Entre-Prises has been issued an ISO9001 certificate in all its
production facilities and will follow the EN12572 standard and TÜV.
Speed holds:
traceability
Each hold will be individually tested and QC-marked with
a code that identifies date and place of manufacture. To
allow the IFSC technicians to check if the holds are
originals, every hold will incorporate a QR-code in the
back. Using any smartphone app will open the
certification website. The same QR-code will also be
stamped on the exclusive packaging that Entre-Prises will
develop for the official IFSC speed holds and on the
certificate that will also be a part of the packaging.
Speed holds:
pricing
In order to give every country and every climber the same opportunities, Entre-Prises
proposes to unify the prices on a consistent worldwide basis, keeping the prices on the
lower average level.
Footholds (Small)
Handholds (Big)
Complete 10m route (8+12) 459 €
Complete 15m route (11+20) 769 € *EXW Prices.
Speed holds:
revenue sharing
3 €/Unit
39 €/Unit
Entre-Prises will keep the prices on speed holds on a low level, and will transfer 15% of
the total amount of sales to IFSC every 3 months.
However, IFSC have the option available to them to determine an increase in costs in
order to make a larger possible profit.
