Peeters 2, 1 1 Departamento de Física, Universidade Federal do Ceará Caixa Postal 6030, 60455-900, Fortaleza, Ceara, Brasil. 2 Departement Fysica, Universiteit Antwerpen (Campus Groenenborger) Groenenborgerlaan 171 B-2020Antwerpen, Belgium The interest in the study of the interaction between vortices in superconductors has been recently renewed after the experimental observation [1] of unusual vortex lattices in two-band superconductors, specifically MgB 2 , which was interpreted as being a consequence of a non-monotonic interaction between vortices. In this case, the existence of two superconducting bands allows vortices to exhibit features of both type- I superconductivity (vortex-vortex attraction), at long range, and type-II superconductivity (vortex-vortex repulsion), at short range, [2] a phenomenom that has been named type-1.5 superconductivity. Recent theoretical papers [3] have demonstrated that even more interesting vortex interactions are expected in three-band superconductors, where, depending on the sign of the inter-band coupling parameters, a frustration between the phase locking tendencies of the order parameters occurs, leading to non-composite vortex structures and topological solitons. In this work, we extend the set of constrained Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equations developed in Ref. [4] for the study of the interaction between noncomposite vortices in two- and three-band superconductors. In the former case, our results demonstrate that the inter-band vortex-vortex interaction potential is monotonically increasing and does not saturate as the vortices in different bands are further separated. This has an important effect e.g. on the possibility of dissociation of a composite vortex in the fluxflow state, predicted by a recent paper. [5] In the three-bands case, we use our method to obtain the interaction potential governing the separation between vortices in different bands when noncomposite vortices are formed as a consequence of the frustration. ORAL CONTRIBUTIONS Study of the multiple gap phenomena in the cuprate and iron-based high temperature superconductors. Rustem Khasanov Paul Scherrer Institut, Switzerland The application of muSR technique to study the effects of multiple gaps on the superfluid density is planned to be discussed. The particular attention is planned to be paid to the coexistence of the superconducting and the pseudogap in Bi2201 family of cuprate high-temperature superconductors (HTS). The presence of multiple superconduting gaps will be discussed for the case of the iron based HTS. 43
