Quebec Residents<br />
In order to be admitted to a program leading to a Diploma<br />
of <strong>College</strong> Studies (DEC), candidates must meet the<br />
following three requirements:<br />
ADMISSIONS<br />
Canadian Students Outside Québec<br />
Students who have received their high school diploma from<br />
a province other than Québec must have the following<br />
minimum admissions requirements:<br />
1. The candidate must possess a Secondary School<br />
Diploma and must be in at least one of the following<br />
three situations:<br />
a) The candidate holds a Québec Diploma of<br />
Secondary Studies (DES).<br />
N.B. A candidate holding a DES, but who has not<br />
succeeded in one or more of the following<br />
courses, will be required to complete remedial<br />
courses :<br />
Secondary V Language of Instruction<br />
Secondary V Second Language<br />
Secondary IV Mathematics<br />
Secondary IV Physical Science<br />
Secondary IV History of Québec and Canada<br />
b) The candidate holds a Diploma of Vocational<br />
Studies (DEP) and has successfully completed the<br />
following subjects:<br />
Secondary V Language of Instruction<br />
Secondary V Second Language<br />
Secondary IV Mathematics<br />
c) The candidate has completed a level of education<br />
that is deemed equivalent by the <strong>College</strong>.<br />
2. The candidate must satisfy, if applicable, the specific<br />
program prerequisites established by the Minister.<br />
3. The candidate must satisfy, if applicable, any special<br />
conditions for admission established by the <strong>College</strong> for<br />
each of its programs.<br />

special conditions for admission are found within each<br />
program description further in this document.<br />
Alberta Grade XI (67-100 credits)<br />
British Columbia Grade XI<br />
Manitoba Grade XI (minimum 13 credits )<br />
New Brunswick Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)<br />
Newfoundland Grade XI (minimum 24 credits)<br />
Nova Scotia Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)<br />
Ontario Secondary School Diploma Grade XI (minimum<br />
22 credits)<br />
Prince Edward Island Grade XI (minimum 12 credits)<br />
Saskatchewan Grade XI (minimum 16 credits)<br />
Québec law requires students who are not deemed<br />
residents of Québec to pay additional fees of $1198.00 per<br />
semester ($5.85 per course hour for part time students).<br />
Please note that fees are subject to change without notice.<br />
Students who were not born in Québec, and who are not<br />
deemed residents of Québec, will be required to submit<br />
proof of residency to the Admissions Office. The<br />
Admissions Officer will verify the status of all applicants<br />
who applied without a Québec birth certificate. In cases<br />
where proper documentation is missing, the candidates<br />
may be asked to provide additional documentation.<br />
Students from the U.S.A.<br />
Grade 12 graduation is strongly recommended. Applicants<br />
with Grade 11 may apply and will be considered on a case<br />
by case basis depending on the nature of the high school<br />
program followed in the U.S.A.<br />
Applicants to Science programs which have additional<br />
prerequisite requirements in Mathematics, Physics and<br />
Chemistry must submit detailed course descriptions for<br />
courses followed in Grade 11 or 12.<br />
