Physical Education (General Education Component)<br />
All students are required to take three courses in Physical Education to fulfill the requirements for the Diploma of Collegial<br />
Studies. Students must complete Physical Education 101 and Physical Education 102 before taking Physical Education 103.<br />

The general objective of the Physical Education 101 courses is to encourage students to be physically active. Through<br />
exposure to a variety of physical activity situations, and measurement techniques, students will learn to specify the physical<br />
activities which are best suited to their personal abilities, areas of interest, and needs. Lifestyle behaviours will be explored<br />
to emphasize the connection between lifestyle choices and wellness. Please Note: Students must purchase a manual for<br />
the 109-101 courses.<br />

The general objective of the Physical Education 102 courses is to encourage students to attain a sufficient level of<br />
competency in a particular activity, to enable them to continue this activity and develop an active lifestyle. Students will<br />
learn to set personal objectives, to progressively improve their motor skills, to apply the rules of the activity, and to<br />
evaluate the attainment of these objectives.<br />
