Additionally, graduates from the Film/Video/Communications
profile will:
• Demonstrate understanding and use of the core
vocabulary essential to the production and analysis of
moving images within the broader context of
communications.
• Be able to identify, describe and participate in all
aspects of the production chain including preproduction,
production and post-production.
• Be able to analyse and criticize aspects of image making,
image manipulation and interpretation.
• Demonstrate the ability to translate a written/oral
concept into moving images that convey an intended
meaning.
• Demonstrate the ability to combine sound with moving
images to communicate a message clearly.
Additionally, graduates from the Photo/Design profile
will:
• Be able to use a wide range of natural and artificial
lighting techniques.
• Be able to use techniques of production, manipulation,
and printing of digital images.
• Demonstrate competent layout skills in poster and book
design and digital media
• Demonstrate an understanding of the language of
photography and design through the use of theme and
sequencing.
• Demonstrate the ability to produce both black and
white, and colour photographs
