Entrance Scholarships<br />

<strong>Champlain</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lambert</strong> offers a Scholarship<br />

Program for incoming students. One scholarship valued at<br />

$750 is awarded in each program to the student with the<br />

highest academic average among students with averages of<br />

80% or higher. The Entrance Scholarships are funded by the<br />

<strong>Champlain</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lambert</strong> Foundation.<br />

Bourses d’excellence-Desjardins<br />

The Bourse d’excellence-Desjardins, sponsored by the<br />

Fédération des Caisses Desjardins du Québec, région Rive-<br />

Sud de Montréal, valued at $750 each, will be attributed to<br />

students enrolled in a full-time program who have obtained<br />

the highest Cote de rendement collégial (cote R) in the two<br />

first semesters of their studies without having failed any<br />

courses. The recipients must have been enrolled at<br />

<strong>Champlain</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lambert</strong> in the same program<br />

before and after the eligibility criteria.<br />

Convocation Presentations<br />

André E. LeBlanc Student Life Prize for significant<br />

contribution to the quality of student life on campus while<br />

maintaining an above average academic record.<br />

Association of Professionals’ Award for high academic<br />

achievement awarded to a mature student. 22+<br />

Biology Prize for high academic standing.<br />

Business Administration Prizes for the highest academic<br />

achievement in the Business Administration Program.<br />

Anna Ackle Support Staff Union Award for an<br />

outstanding student who has been involved in volunteer<br />

work on and off campus, and who has maintained a good<br />

overall academic standing.<br />

<strong>Champlain</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>Saint</strong>-<strong>Lambert</strong> Teachers’ Association<br />

Awards for outstanding students (one for career program<br />

graduates and one for pre-university graduates) who have<br />

been involved in volunteer work on and off campus and<br />

who have maintained a good overall academic standing.<br />

<strong>Champlain</strong> Regional <strong>College</strong> Board of Governors Merit<br />

Award for highest overall academic achievement.<br />

Chemistry Prizes consist of two separate nominations for<br />

high academic achievement in chemistry.<br />

Computer Science Prize for excellence in the Computer<br />

Science program.<br />

Creative Arts Certificates of Merit are granted for<br />

outstanding abilities; one in each profile, Digital Imaging &<br />

Studio Arts, Photo/Design, and<br />

Film/Video/Communications.<br />

Creative Arts Prize for the highest academic achievement<br />

in the Creative Arts Program.<br />

Dean Cheshire Memorial Award for outstanding abilities in<br />

Studio Arts.<br />

Fouad Assaad Memorial Award in World Studies for<br />

excellence in the World Studies Option.<br />

French Prize for high academic achievement as well as<br />

personal commitment to learning.<br />

Gail Sowerby Prize in Liberal Arts for high academic<br />

achievement in the program.<br />

Governor General's Medal for highest overall academic<br />

achievement.<br />

Graphic Communications Prize for high academic<br />

achievement in Graphic Communications.<br />

Humanities Prize for high academic achievement in<br />

Humanities.<br />

International Baccalaureate Prizes consists of two<br />

separate nominations for high academic achievement in<br />

the IB program.<br />

John Jones Memorial Award is awarded out each year to a<br />

student who excels in history and who contributes to their<br />

sporting community.<br />

Joy Smith Athletic Merit Award for an outstanding<br />

member of the intercollegiate athletic program who has<br />

maintained an above average academic record.<br />

Lieutenant Governor Award for personal, collective and<br />

social commitment and outstanding achievement.<br />

Margery Langshur Prize for high academic achievement in<br />

English.<br />

Mathematics Prize for high academic achievement in<br />

Mathematics, one for Science graduates and one for non-<br />

Science graduates.<br />

Modern Language Prizes consist of two separate<br />

nominations for high academic achievement in languages.<br />

Peter Swarbrick Memorial Award for excellence in creative<br />

writing, journalism and public speaking.<br />

Physical Education Prize for high academic achievement in<br />

Physical Education.<br />

Physics Prize for high academic achievement in Physics.<br />

Potter Family Award is granted to a graduating student<br />

who is an inquiring, innovative scholar with a grade<br />

average exceeding 85%.<br />

Social Science Certificates of Merit consist of seven<br />

separate nominations granted for high academic<br />

achievement in Anthropology, Economics, Geography,<br />

History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.<br />

Social Science Program Prizes for high achievement in the<br />

Social Science and Commerce programs.<br />

Tourism Excellence Prize for excellence in the Tourism<br />

program.<br />

The Adam Taylor Memorial Award Celebrating Student<br />

Diversity<br />

In addition to the above, the following organizations also<br />

confer awards or scholarships to campus graduates:<br />

American Express, Fuller Landau, Quebec Association of<br />

Retired Teachers (South Shore Chapter), Royal Bank,<br />

South Shore University Women's Club.<br />
