This was the 25 th Anniversary of Jim’s Jungle Jaunt. Originally started by Jim and Dolly<br />
Edwards with their daughter Carol. Sadly Jim and Dolly are no longer with us but the spirit of<br />
the shoot lives on. Two days 45 targets each day a mix of hand painted and 3d’s. It was<br />
definitely a challenge, not least because of the glorious weather which was slightly too hot for<br />
some people. Carol excelled herself with a good challenging course; thanks go to Bob Miles, Paul<br />
Chenery, Darren Ball and Vince Clarkson to mention a few of the helpers. Paul and Claire nobly<br />
stepped into the breach and did very well with the catering keeping everyone supplied with good<br />
food, 191 Archers shot on Saturday , 191 Shot on Sunday. This is always a very sociable shoot<br />
with archers travelling from as far afield as the Isle of Wight, and Germany, Most seemed to<br />
have a good time and the social evenings were wonderful; this is always a good time to catch up<br />
with people who you see only at the large shoots and Champs. As this was the 25 th Anniversary<br />
year and Carol and Mick Pearce got married it was wonderful to involve everyone in a service of<br />
commitment held in the evening. Let’s hope this is a turning point for them as they have had a<br />
few difficult years. We also have to thank everyone who helped clear up on Sunday after the<br />
shoot; it did make it so much easier. The Jim and Dolly Memorial trophy went to Alayne<br />
D’Attoma of Toad Hollow. The raffle showed a profit of £140 which was donated to the Gerald<br />
Durrell Wildlife fund. Donations for target changes went to the Air Ambulance £15.00.<br />
