Income Limit areas are based on FY 2012 Fair Market Rent (FMR) areas. For a detailed<br />

Purpose: Public <strong>Housing</strong> / Section 8 income limits are used to determine the income eligibility of<br />
applicants for the Public <strong>Housing</strong>, Section 8, and other programs subject to Section 3(b) (2).<br />
The revised income limits are based on HUD estimates or median family income for Fiscal Year 2012.<br />
HUD released theFiscal Year (FY) 2012 Income Limits for Section 8 properties on December 1,2011. The<br />
new income limits are effective immediatelyand must beutilized in the processing of all move-in certifications<br />
effective December 1,2011 and later.<br />
Note:Each year, HUDpublishes new income limits for the multifamily industry. For the last<br />
severalyears, the new income limits were publishedafter the first of the year,generally between March<br />
and May. However, HUD has published the income limits earlier this year to better coincide with<br />
their FY of October 1-September 30.<br />
