The effect on nature conservation
10.179 RDD policy A1T provides that applications for park and ride facilities will
be permitted subject to stated criteria. An objector argues that the policy should be
strengthened to avoid or minimise adverse impacts on protected species and biodiversity
value. The UDP is to be read as a whole, however, in conformity with the advice of
PPG12 that development plans should be succinct. The protection of species is secured
by policy EV2D. Biodiversity is protected by policies EV2, EV2A, EV2B, EV2C and
EV2E.
