Welcome to Akwesasne – “Land where the Partridge Drums.” We are happy to host your visit 

here and Akwesasne has much to offer. The local economy is diverse and vibrant. Visitors can 

enjoy the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, the Mohawk Bingo Palace, our annual international powwow, 

the Akwesasne Museum and Library, retail shopping, many outdoor activities, discount 

gasoline, discount tobacco products, hotel lodging, auto repair, professional services and fine arts 

and crafts. This year the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and the Mohawk Bingo Palace will merge 

into one property. The entrepreneurial spirit is strong here in Akwesasne! 

This business directory is now in its sixth year of publication. We thank the Saint Regis Mohawk 

Tribe’s Public Information Office and Economic Development Division for their fine efforts in 

keeping the directory updated and distributed. It is a collaborative effort between the Saint Regis 

Mohawk Tribe and the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne. Our Mohawk community maintains strong 

ties of history, culture, language and kinship. We are one community and the Saint Regis Mohawk 

Tribe supports traditional Mohawk values, language and culture. 

Akwesasne supports, promotes and contributes to local economies by providing employment and 

other business opportunities to both Mohawks and our neighbors from surrounding communities. 

The private sector has over 300 registered businesses. Tribal government employs about 1,500 in 

its programs, services and enterprises.
