Harvest International through the
Smaller World Program.
The Gordon Community Garden
was built this spring with the help of
students from Kindergarten through
eighth grade. The students laid out
gravel on an underused plot of land,
built eight garden beds atop the
gravel, filled them with soil and began
planting flowers and vegetables. Some
of the plants were planted from seed,
others were transplants from projects
begun in the classroom. The Community
Garden project was spearheaded
by Elizabeth Bakst, Preschool teacher
and Jacqui Ketner, science teacher,
and will be used by the entire school
community throughout the school year.
