in front of me once. I would like to bring
her to the Middle East and say, “Get on
that bus. What do you want to do, get in
that bus or go into that Baptist church?
Where are you going to feel safer, Rosie?”
But people will still listen to her. They will
listen to HER rather than listen to THIS.
The King Becomes Enraged
Persecution will come, but what happens
when persecution comes? What does
it say in verse 7…
…the king was enraged…
It does not say the king was “unhappy,”
it doesn’t say the king was “disturbed,” it
says he “was enraged.” It’s a terrifying
thing to fall into the hands of the Living
God. He is enraged. God is angry.
I have pointed out before that Abraham
has two kinds of descendants: the anthropological
and the theological; the descendants
by birth and the descendants by
second birth.
And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will
curse. (Gen. 12; 3)
Amazing. Any civilization that has
persecuted the Jews or that has persecuted
the true church has come under the wrath
of God.
I teach in Indonesia. In Indonesia in
the past few years 3,000 churches have
been burned to the ground by the Muslims.
In East Timor, Muslims murdered 300,000
Christians. Nobody cares; most do not even
know about it. In the Auckland Islands they
have murdered between 30-40,000. Nobody
cares. But the worst area of Indonesia
is where the “Sharia” – Islamic law – is
enforced in a place called “Banda Aceh.”
I speak in Banda Aceh and I speak at
a Bible college in Indonesia where I help
train young Indonesian evangelists and
seminarians for the ministry. They are
going into Muslim villages to plant new
churches and to preach the Gospel, facing
the prospect of persecution and martyrdom
knowingly. These are people 18, 19,
20 years old. Their attitude, of course, is
“Jesus died for me; it would be my privilege
to die for Jesus.” They are not like the
money preachers in America: “You don’t
have to suffer; you’re a King’s kid! Blabit-and-grab-it!”
These people in Indonesia
are Christians; they are REAL Christians.
Yes, I have seen “real” Christians in
America. I have seen “real” Christians in
Tennessee. But the only places I have seen
real Christianity is where the church is persecuted.
Oh, I can show you real Christians
in Tennessee, I can show you real Christians
in England, I can show you real Christians
in Australia – I can. But to see real
Christianity, come with me to Indonesia,
come with me to Kenya, and you will see
real Christianity. There is a big difference.
So in Banda Aceh they persecute
Christians terribly. CNN does not care,
ABC does not care, the BBC probably
applauds it. Nobody seems to care. “Go
ahead, Muhammad, persecute Christians.”
Only I hope you are a real good swimmer.
Well over 90% of the aid that came to
the tsunami victims came from the Christian
countries. Despite a doubling of oil
revenues in the previous year, the Saudi
Arabians and the Gulf Emirates gave
chicken feed. But although more than 90%
of the aid came from the Christianized
countries, more than 90% – in fact more
than 95% – of the victims were Muslim. It
is God’s judgment the same as the earthquake
in Pakistan.
People in a lot of churches and denominations
have this misconception that
the Protestant Reformers rediscovered the
Gospel: Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, whatever.
That is not true. There were people
who never lost it. In England they were
called the “Lollards,” the followers of
John Wycliffe. In Central Europe they
were called the “Bohemian Brethren,” the
followers of John Huss. In Western Europe
they were called the “Waldensians.”
They were always around. There was never
a time when there were not born-again
Christians. It is just that during the Holy
Roman Empire (which was neither “holy”
nor “Roman”) the Pope always had the
means to stop the expansion of the Gospel.
True believers were terribly persecuted.
Can you imagine 40% of the population of
Europe being wiped out? Well, it happened.
After the pogroms against the Christians
and the Jews were carried out by the medieval
papacy, 40% of Europe’s population
was wiped out. 40% of Catholic Europe
was killed overnight. During the Middle
Ages they had something called the “Bubonic
Plague”; “Black Death.” The king
becomes enraged!
He Sends His Army
But when He is REALLY enraged,
when someone persecutes His people, He
sends His army. He always gets somebody
worse than they are. Israel could not believe
God would use the Philistines, or the
Assyrians, or the Babylonians, or the Romans,
but He did. He gets somebody worse
than they are. Then when He uses them as
His instrument of judgment, He gets rid
of them.
Who is God’s army of judgment today?
Again, it is not a coincidence that
the countries at the center of world events
in the Bible are the same countries at the
center of world events now. Islam is God’s
judgment on backslidden America, Britain,
and Europe. Islam is God’s judgment on
His own people Israel. This is God’s judgment.
Despite the threat, our own politicians,
our own President, will not protect
the borders. This is God’s judgment. For a
year after September 11 th , the President – I
am only telling you, it is not political, just a
fact – continued the Express Visa program
for Saudi Arabians to come in. They gave
10,000 visas to Saudi Arabians in a single
year alone to come live in this country,
students and so forth. This is an invasion.
Paris, France – burned. Bradford, England
– burned. London, England – bombed. My
native New York – bombed. Madrid, Spain
– bombed.
“But the king was enraged, and he
sent his armies and destroyed those
murderers and set their city on fire.
(Mt. 22:7)
Yes, murderers. 3,000 killed on September
11 th , my sister’s husband being one
of them. 3,000. That is how many babies
we abort every year in the United States?
No, that’s how many babies we abort every
DAY in the United States. Murderers. 40
million? 40 million since Roe vs. Wade?
We are a nation of murderers. The King is
enraged! We are under His judgment.
Now do not worry, “Fallen, fallen is
Babylon!” (Is. 21:9; Jer. 51:8; Rev. 14:8;
18:2). Once the Babylonians fulfilled their
purpose, God got rid of them; He got rid of
the Assyrians, He got rid of ALL of them.
Islam’s goose is well-cooked. We have unfulfilled
prophecies in Isaiah and so forth of
the wholesale destruction of Arab Muslim
capitals that has never happened. Damascus
must be destroyed before or when Jesus
comes, so must Kedar (Saudi Arabia),
so must Ammon – these prophecies have
never been fulfilled as yet.
And the Hebrew word is not just “destroy”;
it is “obliterate.” It is the same word
for what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah.
These Arab capitals are going to disappear
from the face of the earth. God is
going to destroy them. The Lord is going to
make war against the Arab world, against
the Muslim world and destroy these nations
AFTER He uses them to bring judgment
and correction to the Judeo-Christian nations
who have turned their back on Him.
THAT is what happened in the first
century, that is what happens in the last
century; that is what is happening NOW!
The Mis-Dressed at the Feast
But what happens next?
“Those slaves went out into the streets
and gathered together all they found,
both evil and good; and the wedding
hall was filled with dinner guests. But
when the king came in to look over the
