COMPANY BACKGROUND
Baptista was founded in 1984 by Marc Baptista. After successfully building up the company, it was
acquired in 2011 by two Belgian chocolate enthusiasts and specialists: Bart Dero and Michael Gijselaar.
Chocolate has no secrets for them and each, in their own way, has made their mark in this sector. The
duo has given the company a new lease of life, while anchoring it in its traditions. The most successful
products have been refined, new products created and the range expanded. The result is a great
balance between authenticity and novelty.
ADDED VALUE
The strength of our business is based on flexibility, its innovative character, and subcontracting for
renowned chocolatiers and “private label” manufacturers. Our production facilities enable us to produce
many applications to very short deadlines in response to continually developing market requirements.
PRODUCT RANGE
Chocolate bars available in several flavours, weights and varieties. They are a pure delight for lovers
of real chocolate. This line has recently been expanded to introduce a wide range of decorating
options, from crystallised rose petals to apple pieces infused with cinnamon or caramelised sesame
seeds.
BAPTISTA CHOCOLATES SA boasts a range of individual chocolates with more than eighty different
flavours, and also a wide selection of sugar-free chocolates sweetened with maltitol.
A new range of “mendiants” and “mini-mendiants” cakes, as well as the new “Irrésistibles” are well
worth discovering.
We are always listening to our customers regarding the development of new products.
We export our products worldwide.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Created 10 years ago by M. Maenhout, Bonbons à l’Ancienne is above all the result of a passion for
old-fashioned confectionery. It was therefore a natural step for it to decide to produce the Cuberdon,
that little sweet from our childhood charged with emotion and memories; Proust had his Madeleine,
we have the Cuberdon.
Having acquired many loyal customers among adults and children in Belgium, Bonbons à l’Ancienne
has sold its products for nearly 2 years in superstores, bakeries, sweet shops etc.
ADDED VALUE
Bonbons à l’Ancienne is the only producer of Cuberdons in more than thirty different flavours.
Originally available in just raspberry flavour, this little treat now features new colours (green, red,
brown, yellow, orange, etc.) and flavours including pear, apple and pineapple as well as Speculoos and
champagne, to name but a few.
The production process that still employs traditional techniques (we use copper cauldrons and real,
natural flavours) lends its handmade character to our products.
PRODUCT RANGE
In bulk, Cuberdons are available in any of over thirty flavours, a list to which new flavours are continually
being added.
Packaged products include:
- The tray of 5 original (raspberry) or fruit flavour (5 flavours: melon, cherry, violet, lemon and apple)
Cuberdons.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
The company Poppies saw the light of day in 1976 following the merger of two families – Luc &
Monique Popelier and Frans & Roos Castelein (both already traditional biscuit makers). In 1977, they
launched the industrial production of biscuits and pastries in Moorslede. In 1990, a milestone was
reached when a new site was set up in Zonnebeke to create frozen pastries that continued to bear the
hallmark of the Popelier traditional bakery. In 1995, the range of biscuits continued to grow on the
site called "Délices de Comines" which gradually became a site highly specialised in the production of
the famous crunchy wrapped biscuits, or "cigarettes" as well as products made from coconut.
Since 1935, DELICES DE COMINES has specialised in the production of biscuits and pastries made the
traditional way.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
In 1947, Léon DESOBRY created his first biscuits in Tournai. Even then people said that when he was
cooking his treasures in the rear-shop, the smell of chocolate and biscuits wafted throughout the whole
neighbourhood. Taste, flavour and character built up the reputation of this Master in the art of making
biscuits, and these same principles still represent the fundamental values of our company today. DES-
OBRY quality is universally recognised in Belgium, the country of biscuits and chocolate. And after conquering
Europe, it expanded overseas to succeed on other continents.
ADDED VALUE
DESOBRY know-how - DESOBRY biscuits are inspired by traditional Belgian recipes which are constantly
up-dated to fulfill today’s consumers’ needs and tastes.
Crunchy, smooth, melt-in-your-mouth, crispy: each biscuit has its own appealing personnality.
In line with the real Belgian chocolate heritage, DESOBRY's recipes include several subtle cacao based
flavours.
DESOBRY innovation - Tradition and innovation work hand-in-hand at DESOBRY. Indeed, the Belgian
Biscuitier is constantly developping new biscuit recipes. This year, for example, the new born biscuit is
the “Perle Noire", a subtle combination of dark Ghana chocolate mousse on a light and crispy biscuit.
DESOBRY quality - DESOBRY keeps improving the nutritional qualities of its biscuit recipes and uses
only top quality ingredients. DESOBRY’s own chocolate recipes are made exclusively with real cocoa butter.
DESOBRY’s biscuits contain no artificial flavours, no artificial colours, no preservatives and no hydrogenated
fats.
Mr SEBAHAT CAVIT
Mr SEBAHAT SIMON
Mrs GENC SONGÜL
COMPANY BACKGROUND
In 1987, Cavit SEBAHAT started making lokoums in Enschede in the Netherlands seeing a gap in the market
for this product that was very popular among the Dutch.
In 1990, spurred on by the early success of SEBAHAT S.A. and in response to the growing needs of the market,
a decision was taken to relocate to Brussels, where it would be easier for the company to grow within
the Brussels-based "SEBAHAT" family. The product range was completed with the production of Halva and
instant flavoured drinks.
By 1996, SEBAHAT had been serving the European market for 9 years, supplying most major retail importers
with Lokoums and Halva. To broaden its horizons beyond the borders of Europe, it attended international food
fairs to gain a foothold on markets around the world like America or Asia.
In 2001, looking back proudly over more than 20 years in the business and an ever-growing production volume,
Sebahat S.A. completed the construction of a cutting-edge plant in Brussels, on a plot of over 10,500
sqm (including 5,000 sqm of floor space), ready to meet new health and safety standards (HACCP) and to
handle the largest orders ever.
Since then, SEBAHAT has come up with an increasingly broad range of products, its new brands of lokoums
LOVLY, SILVY and PERA, EFSANE and, in a world first, is the only company in the world to produce a chocolate-coated
lokoum. A real treat ...!
Considerable investments have been made in the meantime, particularly in Germany to ensure a better distribution
on this market. The company has set up SEBAHAT GMBH in different cities around the country.
Today SEBAHAT S.A. is very proud to present its latest success: filled lokoums.
ADDED VALUE
Its growing success is due to its rigorous production standards, the great care that goes into the ingredient
selection, the extent of its range and the originality of its creations. Its flavoured teas, its helvas, tahini, jams
and honeys complete a range that attracts food lovers galore.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
LIMOUSIN BIO D’ARDENNE, a cooperative company with limited liability created on the 24th of August
2010 whose aim is to market and promote organic beef.
ASSETS AND EXPERIENCE
The tried and tested experience of a 21-year-old cooperative (PQA in Malmedy) was exploited to the
full. A market survey performed by the PQA sales reps among their network of butchers, shops and
local authorities, to whom they only proposed pork, made it possible to gauge the interest and even
the enthusiasm of the clientele in being supplied at the same time with organic beef. It was a win-win
situation: on the one hand PQA is happy to propose a broader range and, on the other hand, the
clients are guaranteed the quality of this new product, along with the professionalism and facility that
the existing network offers them. In fact, in addition to the organic regulations in force, specific specifications
were drawn up and LBA, Limousin Bio d’Ardenne scrl, a cooperative company bringing
together breeders of Limousin cattle, set out to ensure its rigorous application. LBA takes care of the
selection of the animals to be slaughtered, the application of the organic farming specifications and
the application of more specific strict breeding and feeding criteria that it imposes on its members.
The breeding of limousine cattle complies with the organic philosophy and the transformation of the
forage crops of the Ardennes, grasses and mixes of cereals, into cattle fodder.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of LBA is to inform butchers, restaurateurs and local authorities of the existence of this
organic meat sector and, at the same time, increase the demand for organic meat, expand the number
of cow producers within the sector and guarantee them a decent price for their production. The
objective is in fact to offer producers the best price in line with the proposed quality and not according
to the tables and standards drawn up by the supermarkets. The animals chosen to be marketed
in the LBA chain are slaughtered in Ciney where the boning is also carried out along with the vacuum
packing. They are then taken to Malmedy, to the PQA workshops, where the various categories of
meat are weighed, graded and their price calculated. The quality of the animal and the professionalism
of the producer will then be paid at their appropriate value.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
The brewery still remains independent of all Belgian or foreign brewing groups.
Located in the heart of the Condroz, a wonderful tourist region, this dynamic company still uses the
traditional manufacturing process of top-fermentation beers with secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Be sure this story will last for many years and that the beers of the Brasserie du Bocq will animate for
ever and ever this charming little village of Purnode.
ADDED VALUE
Brasserie du BOCQ beers are made using only premium quality ingredients. This applies to the malt
(which determines the colour of the beer), hops (which provides bitterness and aroma), yeast (which
transforms the sugars into alcohol and carbonic acid) and the water, that must be pure and which is
drawn from the ground water extending under the brewery.
The brewery’s expertise mainly lies in the production of special top-fermentation beers with refermentation
in the bottle. This method safeguards the properties of the ingredients and guarantees the
natural character of the beers, which are produced without chemical additives or preservatives.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Established in 1899, the BULLANGE BUTTER factory is ideally located in the heart of the High Ardennes
in Belgium. It has four main assets:
1) It is the last remaining company in the Benelux countries to manufacture its butter using traditional
methods with old style churns. This butter making art, passed down through the generations, has had
to adapt to European market changes while maintaining the quality and excellence of the product;
2) In 1996, it was awarded the Ardennes Butter Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) thus becoming
one of the first three European companies to benefit from a PDO;
3) It is one of the last remaining companies to produce buttermilk in Europe;
4) It has benefited from organic production certification (Integra-Blik certificate) since 2002.
ADDED VALUE
Our butter is known for its indisputable quality, which is achieved through traditional production processes;
it contains no additives and is much appreciated by butter lovers. Moreover, it is naturally spreadable
at low temperatures.
It is made from the organic cream ripening process using specifically selected lactic acid bacteria. The
churning is carried out using traditional churns employing the same methods as our forebears. As a result
it preserves all of its flavour and imparts a delicious taste of old style butter.
PRODUCT RANGE
* Sweet or salted butter in a 250g pack for the PDO butter or in an oval pack for the organic butter
(16 wrapped packs in an attractive and practical 4kg display pack);
COMPANY BACKGROUND
The origins of the company date back to the 1930s. In 1989, this small, typical, regional dairy fell victim
to the concentration process and had to close its doors. So begins the story of the cheese-making
adventure with the purchase of the dairy and the creation of Fromagerie Biologique de Vielsalm.
The FROMAGERIE BIOLOGIQUE DE VIELSAM was a pioneer in Belgium among the organic dairies
since it started off only processing milk sourced from organic farms. In 1994, milk suppliers to the
FROMAGERIE BIOLOGIQUE DE VIELSALM joined forces, making it possible to convert the old Vielsalm
dairy into a modern and well equipped cheese factory for the manufacture of hard and semi-hard
cheeses.
ADDED VALUE
The cheese factory, a real cheese dairy, built out of local stone and with slate roofs has preserved the
rural character of the buildings while setting up a secure and efficient tool for the production of
cheeses. Come see it in summer with its flowering window boxes and you will easily understand how
the cheeses take time to mature and ripen in this idyllic setting. Our cheeses, made with organic milk
collected in the Ardennes, is the fruit of the local dairy tradition preserved by our master cheese makers.
