WELCOME ADDRESS
We kindly invite you to attend the 27 th Autumn Meeting of the Belgian Society of Intensive Care Medicine, on December 20th, 2007.
The focus of this year’s Autumn Meeting is on Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). AKI remains a major challenge in critical care, since it
occurs in more than half of the ICU patients. Moreover, AKI is a major determinant of patient outcome.
An international panel of experts will present new insights on pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment
of AKI. The aim is to provide a timely update in the multidisciplinary management of ICU patients with AKI, in order to promote
excellence in evidence-based clinical care.
