When Maggie Antillon-Mathews, Jeannine Prombo
and Stephanie Andre-Ouellette met at a real estate
investment education program a few years back,
they instantly clicked. The three women found
that they had more in common than just a thirst
for information about real estate investing. They
also shared a desire to use their knowledge and
skills to help people who were struggling in the
economic tsunami that had put many Chicagoland
homeowners underwater on their mortgages.
United by a desire to find solutions that gave
people dignity and options, the trio launched Avid
Solutions, LLC in 2009, and dedicated themselves
to working with families and individuals as short
sales and foreclosures became the unfortunate
outcome of the recession. To date, Avid Solutions,
along with its partner brokerage, MAG Realty, has
offered more than 200 Chicago-area homeowners
hope and a chance to regain their financial footing
by reducing or eliminating their overvalued
mortgage debt. They have negotiated short sales
in seven different states and worked with 50+
lenders. Avid Solutions’ clients are not only
struggling homeowners, but also attorneys and
REALTORS ® who recognize that the process of
negotiating short sales is labor intensive and rely
on Avid Solution’s expertise.
With 22 years of combined real estate experience,
Maggie Antillon-Mathews (11 years), Jeannine
Prombo (seven years) and Stephanie Andre-
Ouellette (four years) work together as agents of
change. “Problem-solving is key to what we do,”
says Stephanie. “When a client comes to us, we
listen with open ears and open hearts, and then
lay out the full range of options available to them,
including loan modification, deed-in-lieu, short
sale and bankruptcy. We do everything we can
to explain, educate, and help people focus on

solutions, and find the solution that is right for
their individual situation.”
Although one hundred percent of Avid Solution’s
business is short sales, the ladies also fulfill their
passion for real estate investment by rehabbing
distressed properties on the Northside of Chicago
and the surrounding suburbs. The vast majority of
their short sale business comes to them via referral.
“A short sale is one of the most complex real estate
transactions you can do,” says Maggie. “We provide
options, choices, education and help in navigating
the system with the individuals’ lenders.”
With Maggie as intake coordinator, Jeannine as
the head of the rock-star negotiation team, and
Stephanie handling all aspects of closing the complex
transactions, these women make a formidable
team. “With short sales, a person can be told ‘No’
a lot of different ways,” Stephanie says. “But we
do not give up on anyone. Our slogan is: No one
left behind, and we really mean it. We put our
clients first and do everything humanly possible
to find a way to work out every situation.”
Their impressive 93% close rate is a testament to
their skill, tenacity and dedication. “It involves a
lot of communication, negotiation, dedication,
passion and a sincere desire to help people out,”
Jeannine says.
“Many people have been swept up in this financial
catastrophe,” Maggie adds. “We see cases where a
lifetime of saving and investing has been washed
away by one bad decision. We assure people it’s
not their fault, and the best thing they can do is to
get better educated. If, after meeting with us, a
person leaves with more information, more
knowledge and perhaps a little more hope, we’ve
done our jobs.”
