Lauri McNevin
Lauri McNevin knows how to make an impression.
She is deeply knowledgeable about the real estate
market, but what sets her apart is the complete
attention she shares with each client. “I give 100
percent of my focus to my client,” she says. “I
offer world class, exceptional service.” She works
with a select clientele in the luxury market in
Austin, TX and pays personal attention to every
detail throughout the transaction.
“It is important for clients always to have access
to me,” she says. Much of her business comes
from referrals, and she sees a direct link between
that and the service she provides. Her clients are
confident in referring friends, because they know
that McNevin will offer an unparalleled level of
personal attention.
McNevin sells homes with an expert touch, thanks
in large part to her marketing experience.
Although her mother worked as a real estate agent,
McNevin chose to study marketing instead of
going directly into realty. She earned a degree in
marketing from Texas Tech University, and
moved to Colorado to work as a buyer for a ski
apparel business. Eventually, she heard her real
estate roots calling her name and became licensed.
After several very successful years selling luxury
properties in Austin and then in Los Angeles,
where she still holds a real estate license, McNevin
returned to her hometown. “I enjoyed the other
places I lived, but they never felt like home,” she
says. “Austin is home. It feels comforting to me,
and I love the people here.” Having returned to
Austin in 2010, she jumped right back into the real
The Gold Standard
estate market. McNevin began building upon her
prior successes and applied marketing methods she
developed in California to her business in Austin.
Within her first year back in Texas, she had
accrued $25 million in listings.
“I do some very unusual, outside-the-box thinking
when marketing properties,” she says. Real estate
soirees are the ultimate home showing—an
invitation-only party through which members of
the Austin elite have an opportunity to eat, drink
and be merry in the home that is for sale. The
advantage for guests is that they have a fantastic
time and are able to socialize and network. The
advantage for the seller and McNevin is that
happy guests go away talking about the fabulous
property they’ve just seen.
McNevin collaborates with companies that serve a
luxury clientele to make the parties really sparkle. In
the past, her soirees have included Maserati
automobiles and high-end ski boats, since many of
her listings are lakeside. Her partner companies invite
their top 50 clients, and the homeowners invite their
friends and neighbors, bringing several hundred likeminded
people together for an utterly memorable
evening. To make sure the party will offer the best of
everything, McNevin invites 10 real-estate related
companies to serve as sponsors of each event.
Insurance agents, home warranty companies, interior
designers, stagers and pool companies—all come
together to offer a party no one will ever forget, with
the finest catering, live music and valet parking.
many strategies to market ultra luxury real estate in a
different way. She collaborates with internationally
acclaimed architect William Hablinski, as well as
award-winning firms like D’Alessio Inspired
Architectural Designs in Pennsylvania, a company
known for its 21st century castles, luxury mansions,
estates and European chateaux. Through these
collaborations, McNevin is marketing to-be-built
conceptual home plans. “This technique for selling
properties has been working very well for many U.S.
metro areas,” McNevin says. “My bottom line is to
exceed my clients’ expectations and find them that
dream home they envision.”
The future is looking strong for McNevin. She
recently was chosen to speak to a convention of
7,000 REALTORS ® at Keller Williams’ international
conference. Amid all the time and effort
she gives to her career, she still sets aside ample
time to raise money for the Austin Children’s
Shelter. At the heart of it all, McNevin cares about
others. Her sentiments are reflected in her motto:
“A house is built of walls and beams, a home is
made of love and dreams.”
