3.1.2 Typical traffic capa<strong>city</strong> improvement work and construction activity<br />

One or more <strong>of</strong> six typical traffic capa<strong>city</strong> improvements would be installed at the<br />

17 work site locations across the proposal footprint.<br />

In certain locations, supporting work would also need to take place to enable<br />

construction <strong>of</strong> the improvements (eg drainage or utility adjustments, tree<br />

removal/pruning).<br />

Table 3-2 describes the typical traffic capa<strong>city</strong> improvements and the supporting<br />

work. Further details <strong>of</strong> the works specific to each location are provided in<br />

section 3.1.3. It also describes the typical construction activities needed to install<br />

each traffic capa<strong>city</strong> improvement and undertake the associated supporting work.<br />

Section 3.3 discusses the construction activities in more detail.<br />

In some instances the changes describe certain periods <strong>of</strong> the day, namely the:<br />

Morning peak generally taken to be between 6.00am and 10.00am on a<br />

weekday<br />

Inter peak, generally taken to be across the middle <strong>of</strong> the day between<br />

10.00am and 3.00pm on a weekday<br />

Afternoon peak, generally taken to be between 3.00pm and either 6.00pm or<br />

8.00pm on a weekday depending on the kerbside use<br />

Evening peak period that generally starts at either 6.00pm or 8.00pm<br />

depending on the kerbside use.<br />
