Prepare a detailed arboricultural survey (refer to section<br />

6.6.4) to identify mature and hollow-bearing trees that may be<br />

impacted by the proposal<br />

Implement measures to avoid or reduce impacts on these<br />

trees in line with those described above.<br />

As a precautionary measure ensure a qualified ecologist<br />

would be present during the felling/pruning <strong>of</strong> any identified<br />

hollow-bearing trees to manage wildlife that may be disturbed<br />

and/or injured.<br />

The ecologist would assess the species and then release them to<br />

the nearest suitable habitat if uninjured.<br />

As a precautionary measure close-<strong>of</strong>f all excavations<br />

overnight, in locations where night works are not planned, to<br />

prevent animals becoming trapped<br />

Inspect each excavation prior to the works starting in the<br />

morning<br />

Have a designated qualified person would capture any<br />

inadvertently trapped species and release the species into<br />

the nearest suitable habitat if uninjured.<br />

Deliver the proposal in accordance with Roads and Maritime<br />

waste-management policies<br />

Adopt the waste and resource management hierarchy in all work<br />

method statements.<br />

Classify, handle and store all removed waste in the construction<br />

compounds/laydown areas in accordance with the NSW Waste<br />

Classification Guidelines 2009: Part 1 Classifying Waste<br />

(DECCW) and Storing and Handling liquids, Environmental<br />

Protection (DECC, 2007).<br />
