MOBILITY SAFETY
It was suggested that an educational campaign be initiated that will

Rachel Neuhaus, Coordinator, Community Policing will be involved
in bicycle safety education by holding student .bike
rodeos at the
elementary schóols. lt was suggested that the high school students
don't nave good bike skills and would benefit from other high school
students, s-uch as Global Ed, students from Fulton or Seaton's
Environmental Group getting the message out to them. A target
date ofJune 2010 has been proposed'
James Rice, Public Works Manager has advised that sidewalk
maintenance has a budget of $35,000 to repair serious sidewalk
problems. lt was explaiñed that the City of Vernon spent over $1
rillion last year on sidewalks. Money from the Province may be
received and will go back into the sidewalks budget'

The TDM Committee will have Kim Young attend as representative
to the City Centre Neighbourhood Plan, with Rob Sawatzky as a
back up.
Access issues to the Medical Centre that recently moved to a new
location on 30th Avenue were discussed. The Handy Dart cannot

bart haé had to stop in the middle of the road to let their passengers
off. lt was advised that a report ¡ill be going to council on January
25th, for a downtown parking strategy.
