The'Taxi saver program started with a $50,000 budget this year
with costs up to $47,000 with the fiscal year ending March_ 31-',
2010. Therefore, BC Transit had had to curtail the Taxi Saver
program for rest of year in order to come up with a solution.
The question was asked how comments and suggestions regarding
transii can be applied to the transit review. Mr. Harvard advised
that the review w¡it ne a transparent process which will have public
consultation with plenty of opportunity for everyone's input'
The Service Review will produce a high level document on what
currently exists and what are best options that BC Transit can be
looking at. BC Transit will do a thorough job to produce a master
plan, úrhich will incorporate the Service Review' The Master Plan
will provide a visioning document as well.
The City of Kelowna Master Plan is anticipated to be completed by
Septem-ber/October of 2010 at which time the North Okanagan will
begin its Master Plan and Service Review.

TO SCHOOL
Patricia Black voiced her concern with the Handy Dart service and
noted that over the Christmas season last year, December and
January had ,1,200 requests for Handy Dart that couldn't be met.
Anna Page, Sustainability Coordinator for the Regional District of
the North Okanagan supports the proposed bike to work/bike to
school program. The Regional District will come to the table with
financial resources from their sustainability budget to assist with
getting the plan uP and running.
The Gity of Armstrong has agreed to become involved in the
progt"m with the Regional District requesting the Municipality of
bolãstream and the Eiectoral Areas for their support. lt was stated
that it witl be exciting to have the whole region involved for the event
which is scheduled ior May 10 - 17th, 2O1o-

REPORT - COUNCIL
MOTION
Council approved the recommendation from the Environmental
Planner and the TDM Coordinator: "That Council endorses the
initiation of the Corporate Sponsorshþ Program for the City's
com m u nity sustainability events."
The TDM Coordinator explained that having sponsorship will play
an important role in supporting community events'
