UPDATE FROM SOCIAL
PLANNING COUNCIL
Annette Sharkey reported on the "Under One Roof'project:
There will be an open house held on January 27th,2010 at 12:00
pm, please RSVP by January 25tt ,2010.
The Vernon Land Trust is takíng applications for two three bedroom
units and are excited to get the families in. A press release will be
provided in the next couple of weeks.
The Social Planning Council was successful in receiving an ACT
Grant, which is to be used to facilitate the transfer of knowledge for
the implementation of new and already existing regulatory solutions
to affordable and attainable housing issues. A tentative date has
been scheduled for April 8th, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the
Schubert Centre. Annette Sharkey will create an outline for the
informational session, which will be geared mainly towards
developers and the building community. lt was suggested to
include display boards which will include information on the City of
Vernon's Downtown Neighbourhood Plan, the DCC Bylaw and the
Hesperia Development. A report will be circulated at the next
meeting.
