Elementary has the highest number of children who are driven to and from school' Traffic is
ãùË"ãv ã'major issue-in the Landing, and now we are looking to accommodate another 500
famifie! with cirildren in a development located 6 km away from City Centre'
with so many building sites not yet fully built-out, and the number of residential properties cunently
for sale undér $400,õoo in fre úanding area (eg. The Breeze, The Strand, oal< Estates, etc), plus
tñe number of Landing properties slated forle-development over the next year (eg' Tuscan
i"lr.ðéi, Eastside noäci, êtc¡, not to mention additional, reasonable, opportunities for home
o*n"on¡þ in other .r"ri ôt tnä C¡ry, it is difficult to grasp why we taxpayers should support this
endeavour.
The addition of another 1,000 units of urban sprawl development in the La.nding without a
commensurate increase in transportation infrastructure and other amenities will only serve to
negatively impact existing residents of Vernon'
Reconsideration of this projecfs location would afford Council the opportunity to show
sustainable leadership, by ädnering to our OCP and Guiding Principles, and by taking
ããuànt"g" of the sign]ilca-nt opportùnities for Brownfield development that currently exist
close to, or within, the CitY Centre.

formation of a "complete neighbourhood", the foundations of our Official Communi$ Plan.
ln this economy, families earning $8O,OOO to $100,000 per year simply do not experience
signincant enough barriers to home ownership to merit taxpayer assistance'
It is my sincere hope that Council will "do.the right thing" and exercise 'lb considerable power to

assÉtance, and to fully embrace an( support the direction set forth in our official
CommunitY Plan.
