Currency Exchange and Control
Foreign currencies, in particular the US dollar and the Euro, play a significant role in the underlying
economics of many business transactions in Russia. For the oil and gas sector in particular, substantial
export arrangements as well as investing and financing activities are conducted in foreign currencies,
primarily the US dollar.
