Emergencies and Security
In the event of a medical emergency, dial 911 from any available
phone. The Convention Center’s Security Office can be reached
at 412.325.6193.
Transportation
SME has negotiated a group discount for airport transfers to/from
the Omni William Penn (or other Downtown Pittsburgh hotels).
To receive the discount, reservations must be made online in
advance at www.supershuttle.com using Group Code RAPID or
by calling 1.800.Blue.Van (258.3826) and mentionig Group Code:
RAPID. Options include:
• SuperShuttle (shared ride van service): $24 one way,
per person
(Rate does not include fuel surcharge or gratuity at
customer discretion)
• ExecuCar (luxury private sedan, seats up to four
passengers): $63 one way
(Rate does not include gratuity at customer discretion)
Tax Deduction
An income tax deduction may be allowed for expenses incurred
for education, including registration fees, travel, lodging, and
meals, primarily for the purpose of maintaining or improving skills
in employment or other trade or business pursuant to Treas. Reg.
§ 1.162-5. Contact your tax consultant for additional details.
Special Requirements
SME is committed to providing reasonable
accommodation to disabled persons who require
such accommodation in order to fully participate in
SME-sponsored events. For details, contact
or visit the RAPID registration counter.
Program Changes
SME reserves the right to amend this program. In the event of a
cancellation, SME is not responsible for incidental costs incurred
by registrants. It is recommended that refundable airline tickets
be purchased.
Photography/Filming Policy
No videotape, motion picture film, or other type of camera is
allowed in the exposition area except those belonging to news
media or technical press that have been approved in advance by
a RAPID Public Relations Representative.
Solicitation Policy
Show exhibitors, in their booths, are the only individuals who
may distribute or display printed material or products. Any other
solicitation is prohibited.
