Event Advisors
Event Advisors have the responsibility for assisting SME with total
event planning including reviewing the makeup of the technical
advisor groups, assisting in speaker and abstract recruitment,
evaluating abstracts, and building relationships for the event
and the Rapid Technologies & Additive Manufacturing (RTAM)
community. They may also advise on various elements of the
event such as workshops, tours, technical briefings, keynotes,
technical sessions, media partners and the show floor.

Greg Morris, RAPID Event Chair
GE Aviation
Greg Morris has been involved in the rapid
prototyping and manufacturing industry
since 1994, when he and two other partners
started Morris Technologies Inc. In 2007,
Morris and his partners founded another
company, Rapid Quality Manufacturing, to
focus on the production of additive metal
components aimed at the emerging aerospace, medical and other
markets. In November 2012, both MTI and RQM were acquired
by GE Aviation. In his new role with GE Aviation, Mr. Morris
is responsible for helping to advance the knowledge of and
applications for additive manufacturing technologies throughout
GE, and he works closely with the existing GE teams that have
been working with the technologies. Mr. Morris has written
numerous articles about additive manufacturing, with specific
emphasis on additive metals. He has also presented at various
trade shows, including SME’s RAPID Conference and Exposition,
Aerospace Design Expo, EuroMold, AeroTech, MoldMaking Expo
and PDx/Amerimold. Mr. Morris is the current chair of SME’s
Rapid Technologies & Additive Manufacturing Community.
Carl Dekker
Met-L-Flo Inc.
Carl K. Dekker serves as the president of
Met-L-Flo Inc., a growing service center for
additive manufacturing located in Sugar Grove,
IL. He has been actively involved in research
and product development using current
technologies and innovative methods.
Mr. Dekker has presented his work at various conferences
globally, including those sponsored by AMUG, Amerimold, ANTEC,
National Manufacturing Week, RAPDASA, RP&M, and SME. He
has also provided training and installations at Abbott Laboratories,
Delphi, Motorola and numerous other locations. Mr. Dekker’s work
has been published in industry journals including Prototyping
Technology, Rapid Prototyping Report, Time Compression
Technologies, and The Wohlers Report (2003-8) to mention a
few. A past chairperson of SME’s Rapid Technologies & Additive
Manufacturing (RTAM) Community (formerly the RPA), Mr. Dekker
currently serves as the chair of the Direct Digital Manufacturing
Tech Group of the RTAM. Being actively involved in fostering
education, he taught the RTAM Certificate Programs and also
remains active in the Bright Minds Program as a member and past
co-chair. He holds a Master Certificate in Rapid Prototyping and is
a proud recipient of the SLA “Dino” Award.
Past and present positions held include: Vice Chair of the ASTM
F42 Committee on Standards for Additive Manufacturing (2009-
2012), Industry Advisory Board Member for RapidTech (2010-
2012), RapidTech National Visiting Committee Chair (2011-2012),
T.E.A.M. NAB (Technician Education in Additive Manufacturing
National Advisory Board) Member 2011-2012, Museum of Science
and Industry Fab-Lab Advisory Board Chicago (2009-2012),
Editorial Advisory Board for Time Compression Technologies
Magazine (2007-2011), Waubonsee Community College Industry
Advisory Board (2008-10), Valley Industrial Association Board
Member (2009-12), RAPID Conference Advisor (2002-12), National
Design and Manufacturing Conference Advisor (2005), National
Plastics Exposition Conference Advisor (2006 and 2009), and
Secretary of the 3D Systems North American Stereolithography
Users Group (2003 and 2004). He has also served as the chair of
many specialty programs and conference sessions.
Dr. Mary Kinsella
United States Air Force
Mary E. Kinsella is a senior manufacturing
research engineer in the Materials and
Manufacturing Directorate, Air Force Research
Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. She
is currently assigned to the Manufacturing and
Industrial Technologies Division, where her
responsibilities include leading the Additive
Manufacturing Integrated Product Team. Dr. Kinsella has previous
