Acharya Hazari Prasad Dwivedi (1907-79) : born in a village in<br />

Ballia, U.P. studied Sanskrit and Astrology at B.H.U. He worked at<br />

Vishwabharti, Shantiniketan for twenty years. He founded <strong>Hindi</strong> Bhawan<br />

there and edited Vishwabharti Patrika in <strong>Hindi</strong>. He was also head<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Hindi</strong> Deptt. in Punjab University. Hazari Prasad Dwivedi was one<br />

<strong>of</strong> the foremost <strong>Hindi</strong> writers and critics with numerous published books<br />

to his credit. ‘Baanbhatt Ki Atmakatha’, ‘Anamdas ka potha’, ‘Charu<br />

Chandralekh’ are his novels, ‘kutaj’, ‘ashok ke phool’ are collections<br />

<strong>of</strong> literary essays. His volume on Kabir is <strong>of</strong> specific significance. Acharya<br />

Dwivedi’s complete works are available in eleven volumes entitled Hazari<br />

Prasad Dwivedi Granthavali from Rajkamal Prakashan.<br />

Abram, Abram’s real name is Brajkishore Prasad (Born Nov.23, 1927),<br />

a D. Litt. in English, he is a retired pr<strong>of</strong>essor. His important works<br />

are: ‘India Regained (A dynastic Rule and the ‘77 Democratic Revolution)’,<br />

Oriental Publishers, New Delhi; ‘Thanjha Bhawan (Rendition <strong>of</strong> Wuthering<br />
