After Acceptance<br />

Medical Requirements<br />

New students must have a medical check-up at<br />

the beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g of the academic year unless they<br />

br<strong>in</strong>g documents required and accepted <strong>in</strong> <strong>Hungary</strong>.<br />

Health Insurance<br />

A full basic health <strong>in</strong>surance valid for <strong>Hungary</strong> is a<br />

prerequisite for registration at the University.<br />

New students should purchase <strong>in</strong>surance when<br />

they enroll and renew it at registration for each<br />

semester except EU citizens, who are covered by<br />

their EU health <strong>in</strong>surance program. The <strong>in</strong>surance<br />

fee is approx. EUR 100 for a semester.<br />

Registration<br />

Registration for the fall semester will take place<br />

from 27 th August to 7 th September 2007 <strong>in</strong> the<br />

Office of <strong>Academic</strong> Affairs at the <strong>International</strong><br />

Education Center (H-1111 Budapest XI, Bertalan<br />

Lajos u. 2, Build<strong>in</strong>g Z, ground floor).<br />

Non-EU citizens should have a D5 type Student/resident<br />

visa.<br />

EU citizens must apply for a residence permit<br />

after registration.<br />

Student Card<br />

On registration, students receive a student card<br />

which entitles them to use the University library<br />

and give them access.<br />

Hous<strong>in</strong>g and Meals<br />

Private Accommodation<br />

Due to the limited number of places <strong>in</strong> the student<br />

residence, foreign students generally rent rooms<br />

of apartments <strong>in</strong> the city.<br />

The average cost for a one-room furnished apartment<br />

with a kitchen and a bathroom generally costs<br />

about USD 150–350 /month. The price does not<br />

<strong>in</strong>clude heat<strong>in</strong>g, electricity and telephone costs.<br />

Information on temporary accommodation is<br />

available through the Student Office (Build<strong>in</strong>g Z).<br />

Meals<br />

Meals are available on an “a la carte” basis <strong>in</strong> the<br />

two ma<strong>in</strong> cafeterias of the University.
