After Acceptance
Medical Requirements
New students must have a medical check-up at
the beginning of the academic year unless they
bring documents required and accepted in Hungary.
Health Insurance
A full basic health insurance valid for Hungary is a
prerequisite for registration at the University.
New students should purchase insurance when
they enroll and renew it at registration for each
semester except EU citizens, who are covered by
their EU health insurance program. The insurance
fee is approx. EUR 100 for a semester.
Registration
Registration for the fall semester will take place
from 27 th August to 7 th September 2007 in the
Office of Academic Affairs at the International
Education Center (H-1111 Budapest XI, Bertalan
Lajos u. 2, Building Z, ground floor).
Non-EU citizens should have a D5 type Student/resident
visa.
EU citizens must apply for a residence permit
after registration.
Student Card
On registration, students receive a student card
which entitles them to use the University library
and give them access.
Housing and Meals
Private Accommodation
Due to the limited number of places in the student
residence, foreign students generally rent rooms
of apartments in the city.

finding the most suitable type of accommodation.
The average cost for a one-room furnished apartment
with a kitchen and a bathroom generally costs
about USD 150–350 /month. The price does not
include heating, electricity and telephone costs.
Information on temporary accommodation is
available through the Student Office (Building Z).
Meals
Meals are available on an “a la carte” basis in the
two main cafeterias of the University.
