A Placement Test is given to all B.Sc. freshmen<br />

to determ<strong>in</strong>e the level of their Mathematics, Physics<br />

and English language skill. Those students<br />

who do not meet the requirements will be directed<br />

to the Pre-Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g Course, which provides<br />

two semesters of <strong>in</strong>tensive <strong>in</strong>struction.<br />

Admission Requirements for M.Sc. Program<br />

<strong>in</strong> English<br />

• B.Sc. degree or its equivalent (with notarized<br />

official English translation of all transcripts –<br />

unofficial copies are not accepted).<br />

• Average grades of “B” or better (depends on<br />

faculty requirements).<br />

• Proof of English language proficiency, as it was<br />

mentioned above.<br />

Acceptance will be decided by the Dean of the<br />

Faculty. A one- or two-semester program of transition<br />

or refresher courses (Pre-M.Sc. Course) may<br />

be recommended prior to the M.Sc. Program.<br />

Courses run for small groups m<strong>in</strong>. 5 members.<br />

Admission Requirements for Ph.D. <strong>Programs</strong><br />

<strong>in</strong> English<br />

• M.Sc., Dipl. Ing. <strong>Degree</strong> or its equivalent (with<br />

notarized official English translation of all transcripts<br />

– unofficial copies are not accepted).<br />

• Excellent grades <strong>in</strong> the transcripts and the f<strong>in</strong>al<br />

exam <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the diploma project (thesis).<br />

• Proof of English language proficiency, as it was<br />

mentioned above.<br />

Acceptance will be decided by the Doctoral<br />

Board of the Faculty.<br />

Student Visa<br />

Every new student who is non-EU citizen has to<br />

obta<strong>in</strong> a “D-5” type student visa, before departure<br />

from the home country.<br />

Students com<strong>in</strong>g from EU and EEA countries<br />

do not need a student visa, but have to apply for a<br />

residence permit with<strong>in</strong> 90 days after their arrival<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>Hungary</strong>.<br />
